Lamar, the rural SE Colo town with a population of about 7,500, voted yesterday to implement a two-year moratorium on data centers. Prowers County had already enacted a six month ban. That essentially pushes data centers out of the area for the foreseeable future.

Water and economic development are both extremely important issues here. So, this is an important decision. The 'Finish the Arkansas Valley Conduit Act,' which Trump vetoed last year, would've provided much needed jobs + no interest federal loans to finish the project.

Permanent Daylight Saving Time for Denver/Colorado would mean no clock ‘fall back’ in November.
We’d have late winter sunrises (8-8:20a), but our earliest sunset would be around 5:30p.

BREAKING: The House has passed legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-a-year clock changes by a 308-117 vote. Backed by President Trump, the bill now heads to the Senate. If approved and signed into law, Americans would no longer have to change their clocks.

This was the scene in Beulah last July. I remember hiking and thinking about how thick the vegetation was, and how scary that seemed - a byproduct of living in Colorado my whole life, I suppose.
Gut-wrenching to see the Aspen Acres Fire rip through a part of home.

Please respect campfire and fireworks bans this week and over the 4th.
Most of the mountains are in stage 2 restrictions (no campfires).
