Choosing violence: Amazing how many nonprofit Executive Directors build entire careers pretending to “fight private prisons” while cashing checks, hosting cliquish conferences and retreat-style vacations, making over $300K a year, collecting speaking fees and book deals, and doing press events where they perform outrage…all while surrounding themselves with formerly incarcerated people who have no idea they’re being exploited.
Grift disguised as justice.

As Ga. Republicans try to invoke a new law to sanction/suspend/remove DA Fani Willis for indicting 19 people including Trump, they should be forced to confront the question of what crime is more serious in this country than trying to steal an election.

Maryland received one of the worst grades - F. We need a functional geriatric & medical parole statute and a mechanism to get back into court for sentence modification for our elders who have paid their debt and are no threat to public safety.
Geriatric release is neglected nationwide. Debilitated elders who no longer pose any threat to public safety languish in prisons ill-equipped to meet even basic needs. We must do better. See @FAMMFoundation report cards on every state program famm.org/our-work/compassion…

The decision by #HonFest to reject @PPMaryland from participating in this years festival, free and clear of censorship, is indefensible and must be disallowed. For over a decade, as an elected, I have supported the festival and the work PP has done. We must resolve this ASAP.
PPM was rejected as a vendor at HonFest, then told we could ask another vendor to share if we abided by a gag rule. We will not perpetuate silence and stigma of our services. Please enjoy photos from a time HonFest recognized us as a valued provider of health care and education.

It was clearly the intent of the legislature to remove the Governor from all types of parole in 2021. Due to bill deaf error, medical parole was overlooked @LukeClippinger @SpeakerAJones put SB 33 on a vote list tomorrow. It’s time to fix this mistake and depoliticize parole.
