Gboob! 💗🌵 For the past year, I’ve been working on something really special here in the High Desert of California. The Keep A Breast High Desert Collection is a living archive of breast casts, art, community, storytelling, and breast health education. This weekend, we finally opened the full collection in Pioneertown. 🥹 For those of you newer to KAB through the @boobillions COMMUNITY, breast casting and art have been part of our DNA since the beginning. It’s how we started 26 years ago, using art to open conversations about our bodies and breast health. We made this 7-minute film to tell the story and introduce you to some of the incredible people behind it. Give us 7 minutes and come into our world for a bit. 26 years of casting bodies and we’re still talking about boobs. And that’s kind of the point. Our chest casts have always been about starting conversations around our bodies, breast health, cancer, prevention, vulnerability, healing, sexuality, beauty + everything in between. Not everyone experiences the work the same way. Some feel empowered. Some feel seen. Some feel uncomfortable. Some question it. ALL of those reactions are part of the conversation. Every cast has a person behind it. Every person has a story. Art should make us feel something. And if it gets us talking about our bodies, our health + how we take care of ourselves, it’s doing exactly what we hoped it would do. POV: @shaneyjo casting Taylor for our upcoming High Desert Collection exhibition, through Taylor’s Meta glasses. 👀 It’s so fun getting to see what the castees see while Shaney jo is casting them. Taylor captured some really sweet little chats between the two of them about KAB, why Shaney jo started casting breasts in the first place, and why knowing your body matters so much. Knowing how your body looks, feels, and changes helps you recognize when something feels different. Know your normal, breasties! Taylor’s cast is one of 30+ pieces you’ll see come to life in the High Desert Collection, opening September 18 in Pioneertown. 🌵🎨 Until then: feel it, know it, love it. 🫶

Creating art can help us get out of our heads and access parts of ourselves that aren’t always easy to put into words. It can open doors to expressing how we feel, connecting with each other, and giving ourselves space to heal. This is part of a new series of workshops we’re creating specifically for our BIPOC survivor community, and we’re so excited to keep growing it.
