Cash to ZEC is now live on Peer iOS and Android. Buy USDC from a peer with Venmo, PayPal or Revolut, send it out as @Zcash through @near_intents, then shield it in your wallet. No CEX. Done in minutes.

Especially cool since this uses NEAR tech 👀
NEAR officially becomes a deployer in @HyperliquidX spot markets. You can now trade $NEAR spot in HL.

Well deserved success for a great team that has been consistently shipping for years
Congrats to @rhea_finance for becoming one of the main venues for $ZEC trading & lending alongside Near Intents. RHEA trades $85M / day in ZEC volume, whereas the whole Solana blockchain trades $60M per day, and it outcompetes CEXs such as Gate ($30M) or Kraken ($75M), and closely rivals OKX ($117M) or Coinbase ($250M). It also has the deepest ZEC AMM LP with $20M, paired with NEAR. But even if you are not on NEAR, you can use the cross-chain solution of Rhea, lending BTC, ZEC, or SOL and borrowing stables on different chains, doing cross-chain swaps (also confidentially), perps, etc. Having known them for 4+ years, I have to say Near eco has some of the brightest technical minds on crypto and they don’t get enough attention. and it’s one of the most solid demonstrations of leveraging @near_intents tech and adding their own sauce. Also check out their ZEC wallet @noir_wallet - first ever browser extension wallet for ZEC that scaled from 0 to 20k+ users in a few months, supported by Zcash, only one with embedded defi (trade, lending, bridge, perps, etc) using rhea and near intents tech.

Certainly KYC has stopped some money laundering and illicit financing The question is whether it is stopping enough (given money laundering is still > 1T per year globally) to justify the absolutely immense cost to individuals and businesses
That’s like saying “having an ID provides no value.” Banks, hospitals, rent a cars, etc need to be able to identify you and associate accounts and services with you. Are KYC experienced great? Often no. Is it flawed? For sure. Is it necessary: yes. Otherwise who’s held accountable if you’re money laundering, or doing something illegal? Or if someone steals your account and you need access otherwise your assets are drained? KYC is identification and liability. With that said: KYC processes suck and clearly encryption isn’t taken seriously. And that’s the fault and deliberate design choice of the service provider. KYC is necessary it’s just not well done.

All of these agents will talk to each other anyway Can pick whichever one and tell it to text your friends/their agents
ok instinct founder has pretty god tier taste. also moves lean and fast. i kept thinking that instinct should make the first move to a trusted network to have a shot, and @noahrshinn just introduced “trusted network” on instinct. (cc @joshelman) @Muse and @alexandr_wang @finkd are great, but whoever nails multiplayer will acquire one piece of our lifetime tbh

Generally against regulators slowing down frontier AI, but if the labs are going to keep saying shit like this then they don’t really have a choice Hopefully they just slow down frontier labs and help others catch up
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.

moats are dead *in SaaS
there are no more moats anymore. moats are dead. was talking to a friend of mine who's a CEO of a rapidly growing startup (~$1B revenue). we're small investors. He told me that he has only taken one one-week vacation in the last eight years of his startup. I was like, "Hey this is crazy. You're gonna burn out. This is pretty serious." he said, "Auren, I don't know what to do. We don't have no moat." am like, "What are you talking about? The business is going great!" he said, "We have incredible competitors. We sell AI products and so we're selling to the smartest people in the world. If we don't have the best product that week, they won't buy us. If we don't have the best product for two weeks, our customers will churn. We don't have a moat." I started thinking about it: who does have a moat? There are just no moats anymore. Nobody has a moat. Everyone will switch their software providers in a heartbeat for better product or for cheaper product or for faster product. Anyone will switch. We looked at our 200 companies at Flex Capital and how they're buying software and AI services today. Almost all of their vendors are on month-to-month contracts or on usage-based contracts. That means they can switch immediately. The reason they have everyone on month-to-month is that they have no idea if they're going to be using those tools two months from now. They may not even be using those tools two weeks from now. Everything is changing so fast all the time. The only moat you have in software is that you have the best product. There are just no other moats. It used to be back in the day that you have a mediocre product and you'd be using it for years. we just dealt with all these of mediocre software systems, mediocre cloud providers, mediocre data providers, mediocre APIs. we dealt with it because the switching costs are really hard. Nowadays it's really easy to change software. It's really easy to change APIs. it's really easy to change AI infrastructure. It's super easy. You can change it in a heartbeat and every other vendor will help you switch. Of course, your AI tools will help you switch as well. All these things that used to give very high customer lock-in just don't exist anymore and so they're just no more moats. Moats are dead.  you just need to work insane hours all the time because the only thing you have is your product. goodbye moat, goodbye predictable revenues, goodbye 2010s era.

If a tokenized deposit isn’t transferable between banks, it’s just a much worse version of an internal bank payment rail
Tokenized deposits are going to come at stablecoins so hard in the years to come. Banks will make deposits programmable, interoperable, and available 24/7. They can offer businesses much of what they want from stablecoins without asking them to leave the banking system, which preserves the bank relationship (and trust), regulatory certainty, and government guarantees. But they’ll still be restricted more than stablecoins. Stablecoins will still have the important advantage of moving freely outside a single bank’s customer base and across platforms. It’s unclear just how portable tokenized deposits will become; most of it will be determined by regulations. Most likely outcome: stablecoins become sandwiched by tokenized deposits, serving as the means of money movement but not the means of holding deposits at the beginning or end of money moving.

Meteor Wallet has added quantum-resistant key support on NEAR. Post-quantum full-access keys can be created, imported and revoked on existing accounts, alongside the keys already in place.

How can you possibly champion a bill that doesn’t address these completely fundamental issues upfront? “Yes, we know this creates a bunch of problems and we don’t yet have solutions to them, but we should totally do it anyway” 🤦‍♂️
Replying to @mcuban
Why not a non recourse loan for pledged stock as collateral for this situation?
Community note
Non-recourse loans against private company stock exist but require mature companies with reliable income and are typically limited to low loan-to-value ratios (15-45%), making them infeasible for large amounts owed by young founders of unprofitable startups. ennessglobal.com/us/insights/bl… commercetrustcompany.com/private-bankin…

did near:native give up on the L1 and is instead focusing on intents and nearai?
