Helium shortage is nonsense. Electrolyze seawater for hydrogen, then run it through a reactor to fuse it into helium. We’ve known how to do this since the 1950s. This is a solved problem.
No helium means no new smartphones, laptops, cars, MRI machines, or missiles. This irreplaceable resource is now in short supply as the war with Iran continues. @jon_wertheim reports, Sunday on 60 Minutes.

insanely cool. I am very interested in preservation of languages. To preserve languages you need to have new age datasets. Podcasts in Sanskrit are going to help Sanskrit survive. Millions of hours of this might even make it relevant again. We should do it to every tribal language and every less spoken language.
Can you imagine a 2-hour conversation between a VC and an AI researcher on AI and LLMs entirely in Sanskrit? We just recorded one. Could this be the world's first technical podcast in Sanskrit? Can't wait to share it. Here is a raw glimpse

Hi, it's Darshita. I am a designer. And I'm pitching myself in public 'cause I'm done with a year full of anxiety. Everyone says design is dead and AI killed it. But the real parasite was hiding in plain sight. So here's my film, DESIGN IS DEAD. She's bold, fearless and very PINK 💖 Hiring? My DMs are open.

Banger. Everyone wants to be a citizen with benefits no one wants to be citizen with responsibilities. Taxes aren't alimories.
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens. Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem. If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will. x.com/Virendra0698/status/21…

The French students are incredibly powerful and their messaging is loud and justified. They want good schools. The French government should listen and refrain from any brutality. It's time to set a precedent on how to deal with peaceful protests with compassion. (/s)

Whatever works in China today will work in India soon. Very much like Chinese VCs Indian VCs are focussed on brokering invoices and maximising outcomes of human capital. China never did deeptech. They did manufacturing and prototype to product building. RnD / Deeptech came as a survival mechanism. Similarly India did a lot of enterprise SaaS because we were good at delivering IT services and products. Deeptech that doesn't end up as usable products won't get funded. You don't have a deep manufacturing ecosystem to sustain innovation yet. Fortunately there's enough depth to consume innovation around speed of service delivery. Everything else will grow in silos and explode the day the market has enough net capital. But for now all capital is being spent in ensuring service and product delivery expectations and norms. (which will be used to fund innovation around it). This is my bull case for Pronto/ Snabbit too.
Replying to @imDhananjay
in a decade we will realize most of the deeptech is a grift and quick services + quick commerce companies are what drives more for the economy

My expectations from arrange marriage hunt were similar. What I found instead were some of the nicest women ever. I don't make a lot of money and a lot of my matches make more money than I do. A lot of them are influencers actors IAS officers etc. Women are kinder than they're represented in popular media. Don't believe this garbage. But also don't not work hard.
My brother is a mining manager in a reputable private company in Odisha. He completed his diploma and degree from OSME ,GCE Keonjhar. He holds a national sports certificate, earns well and has a good looking, athletic personality. Recently, we have been receiving marriage proposals for him as he is touching 29 end. The girl’s family’s questions and requirements are insanely escalating to a different level of entitlement and my parents literally getting clueless. 1-: When will he get a government job? 2-: Why is he in Odisha? Is he not getting any chance to go to Europe or other countries if working in pvt ? 3-: Does he own any individual house in Bhubaneswar or any metro city ? 4-: Our girl can’t stay in a rural area after marriage maximum 2 weeks she needs to move to Keonjhar or Bhubaneswar. 5-: Will your elder son ever come to Odisha or not from abroad ? 6-: Our girl can’t always be in a saree. 7-: What’s his exact in hand salary and savings ? 8-: When is your family planning to partition your ancestral property ? Trust me, there are many more such questions, and honestly, those questions are not coming from reputable business or government officials from metro cities, they are coming from rural people whose girls have only completed some basic graduation with zero earnings. Sometimes I feel that these small town people are not only getting disillusioned but also getting polluted by social media expectations. I think we only have the last hope of finding a good Mastani Brahmin family from Berhampur and getting my brother married, like me. People talk about dowry and all, but nobody talks against these people who are becoming more selfish and greedy day by day. The high expectations, greedy, selfish attitude not only make a broken marriage it will ruin your own girls future. Hope at least people understand the reality and consequences.

xPeng EHang (evtols only) and GAC have vertical takeoff cars in the market already. xPeng ARIDGE is set to release in 2026 too. (Or has it?) I wonder what @xiaopenghexpeng thinks of Tesla's "flying" car. Even GAC's Aircar has road + land capabilities. Tesla's launch is very bullish for @sarlaaviation and @ePlaneCompany who are both making evtols in India. evtols + road hybrids are going to be the norm in 2 decades imo

I keep revisiting this video and it's so funny. It's one man fighting for a good Instagram reel vs another man trying to not get indemnified. None of them want to be there. So much so that there's no water / tea on that table. God bless the dehaat
