To understand the Second Amendment, you have to be willing to put aside Modern-Day Partisanship, and abandon the "Pro-Gun/Anti-Gun" dichotomy.
When it was written, the current parties didn't exist, and it wasn't written about private gun ownership one way or another.
People aren't directions. They don't fit neatly into predefined buckets where everyone in that classification believes all the same things. A two party system can't explain all the political diversity that exists. Research before voting is worth doing.
Does Trump really think that bragging about Russia selling a few days worth of diesel to the world market, which they were selling anyway (they have been going around sanctions) will distract people from the fact that diesel is expensive because of the situation in Iran?
I don't like memes, but now and then I feel the need to correct one...
This is based on an incorrect meme I saw comparing Nazis and Democrats, while excluding Republicans and MAGA from the chart.
I know a lot of people think Republicans and MAGA are the same... they aren't.
ALT An infographic titled "How to avoid sexual assault: A QUICK AND EASY GUIDE*" with an 8-box grid parodying safety advice by placing responsibility on perpetrators.
Numbered boxes:
1. Cocktail & Pills: "DON'T PUT DRUGS IN PEOPLE'S DRINKS."
2. Three Figures: "USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM. If you might sexually assault someone, bring a friend to stop you."
3. Person in Bed: "IF SOMEONE IS DRUNK, HIGH, OR ASLEEP, DON'T RAPE THEM."
4. Whistle: "CARRY A WHISTLE. If you might sexually assault someone, blow it until someone stops you."
5. Blindfolded Head: "WATCH WHAT YOU WEAR. If someone's clothes are a problem for you, try wearing a blindfold."
6. Streetlamp: "WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE WALKING ALONE, LEAVE THEM ALONE."
7. Two Figures: "DON'T FEEL ENTITLED TO SEX. Nobody owes you sex. Flirting isn't consent."
8. Elevator: "IF YOU'RE ALONE WITH SOMEONE, DON'T SEXUALLY ASSAULT THEM."
Bottom banner: "THE ONLY PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IS THE PERSON WHO COMMITS IT."
Footnote: "* for perpetrators"
Jack Smith: "Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation ... rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power"
We need more LGBTQ movies that aren't just "oh my, you're LGBTQ, how do you deal with that?" but are really Action/Sci-fi/Vampire etc movies that have strong LGBTQ characters as leads.
If "deep state" is the nonpartisan government workers who formed the foundation of the US Government, what do we call the extreme partisans who this Administration has been replacing them with, and we will need to purge next Administration?
When I heard they were continuing Stargate with a new series I broke out my DVDs to refresh my memory and get ready for new episodes. I now have two episodes of SGU left and there's no longer a continuation planned, but I am more certain that I couldn't watch a reboot.
Trump claiming the US is the worldβs sole superpower rings hollow when MAGA America First isolationism actively undermines the global alliance network and forward logistics that built that status in the first place.
True superpower reach relies on dependable global partners and structural trust, not just domestic hardware. Slicing away at NATO, the UN, and alienating allies hands the strategic advantage straight to near-peer rivals, like a China/Russia/North Korea alliance.
No Framer of the Bill of Rights or Supreme Court Justice ever explained that the Second Amendment is about gun regulations outside the scope of the organized militia before 2008.
The idea that the 2A prevents common-sense gun laws is bogus.
Iranβs Supreme Leader said Iran would not reopen the Strait of Hormuz until President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are removed from power.
I'm cool with that. Would you two guys please resign from office?
First... The US Constitution was written (well it was version 2, but you know what I mean) and in it were two militia clauses as a part of Article 1 Section 8:
To understand the Second Amendment, you have to be willing to put aside Modern-Day Partisanship, and abandon the "Pro-Gun/Anti-Gun" dichotomy.
When it was written, the current parties didn't exist, and it wasn't written about private gun ownership one way or another.
