Saw some streamers talk about this and wanted to share my experience.
I left the Nopixel community back in 3.0. No drama, it just became an obsession that was consuming my life to an unhealthy degree.
I had started in early 2.0 and every day was a blast. I was never really a great rper but everyone was cool and helped me out.
Over time i was spending 16 hours a day on server, playing off stream. It was fun, you get fomo from everything happening, you invest a lot of time in your resources and relationships, and your views go up due to the community.
The tipping point was when issues started to feel personal. It wasn't just a game anymore. Like when I was denied a cop after spending my weekend at their academy with no explanation then shroud was "honorary cop" a few weeks later. (Still crying)
But In all seriousness I loved my time there, but it is very easy to get into a unhealthy lifestyle physically and mentally. I ended up having to unfollow most everyone from the server so I wouldnt want to come back. Which I did for a brief time but felt the same pull and dipped in 4.0
The truth is, from conversations ive had, a large amount of the players are in the same boat and I hope me and the others talking about it help them in some way.
My advice is set reasonable time limits. I know it takes hours to get something to develop in a story line but you gotta have a hard out. Do your thing and dip. The more you string along and stay the more itll snowball.
Stay safe my addictive personality homies.
