As a Marathon supporter, I think using the difficulty of the game as one of the main reasons it hasn't been as successful is a copout. The lead up to the release of the game, the server slam (limiting upgrades in the test), D2 EoS (majority of S1 players came from Destiny) were big factors that hurt its success. The game itself has also had plenty of issues up until this point: Season 2 launch, Servers (no regs/desync), onboarding, CHEATING!!, loot economy, progression, Cryo 3 days a week and balancing being the big ones. Compared to other extraction shooters out there Marathon is one of the more casual ones. Sure, lesser skilled players have been struggling but Marathon has struggled more to keep PvP/extraction players on the game. That being said, I'm looking forward to playing this October wipe and December update. New update is looking good 👍

I'm all for making Marathon a little bit easier with PvE for new or non-PvP players to have something to enjoy. Just please don't abandon the "endgame" PvPvE Marathon ship/Cryo Archive type of maps in the future 🙏

Marathon can't have another Season 2 launch. If it takes delaying Season 3/Symbiosis to get it right, I don't mind it. The game has already been at rock bottom. This December update is a chance to get people back on board and avoid all the big releases coming out in November.

I've played Marathon maybe 60-70 hours since I posted this. Can't wait for Season 3 🥸

I already had high expectations for GTA 6 before watching any gameplay but that gameplay reveal exceeded them. I'm so excited for this game 🔥

With the Volt Thrower getting adjusted, the only complaint I have with this meta is the Circuit Breaker 1 shot body setup going around. Besides that, there is more variety in what can be used to compete which is a good thing. Bubbles/Nades are still effective but need to be used with intent. Misriah/Bully/D54 still have a place in the meta. Drvish shines after the Misriah nerf. WSTR is good again. Magnum/Impact HAR are my favorite weapons. Objectively speaking, the meta is in a better spot overall now. More people of all skill levels get to enjoy the game how they want to. In my opinion, all Marathon needs is a Recon rework and the gameplay is in a good spot👍
