Happy to share more thoughts about our strategy beyond LOC. While this is a super-simple metric to understand, it's not the only measure.
Turns out AI also causes a lot of devx pain 🧵
~40% of daily code written at Coinbase is AI-generated. I want to get it to >50% by October.
Obviously it needs to be reviewed and understood, and not all areas of the business can use AI-generated code. But we should be using it responsibly as much as we possibly can.

AI is simply another tool in the toolbox. In order to be effective, engineers need a stable platform for change management and are expected to own the code they produce.
I shared most of these thoughts in the attached post @brian_armstrong shared. We're excited to see engineers embrace AI in all parts of their daily workflow, and we're moving faster + safer than ever now thanks to this cultural shift 🚀
