Not to be dramatic but Wildwood was maybe the coolest and most beautifully animated film I’ve ever seen in my life.
The stop-motion animation work behind LAIKA’s WILDWOOD (2026) is absolutely insane.
136 handcrafted sets, over 200 practical puppets and 49 animators working across 231 weeks, with some shots producing just 1–4 seconds of animation per week.

Got this game as a Pre-Halloween treat. It's got the super dark fantasy stop motion story down to a tea. (With an actual stop motion intro on the title screen) Love love South of Midnight.
South of Midnight is packed with dark, gothic folklore you probably shouldn’t go digging into. Haints, boo hags, mythical creatures... All lurking in the shadows.

I saw Wildwood in theaters yesterday and my honest opinion is this film is so artistically breathtaking that it should be seen by everybody and talked about in the history of cinema forever because, visually, this movie is the stop-motion equivalent of Akira
