For the first time in our state鈥檚 history, the Democratic Party of Tennessee has nominated a woman for Governor. I am deeply honored by that. But this moment is about so much more than me.
It belongs to every woman who was told to wait her turn.
Every girl who wondered if there was a place for her in leadership.
Every generation that fought to open doors for the next one.
Because history has never been changed by people who waited for permission. It has been changed by people who got to work.

YOU won't be the first woman Governor of Tennessee.
Oh, wait. Can YOU even define "woman"?
