It was most incoming defense production, as measured by Defensive EGA for incoming transfers. dEGA takes into account the value created (or subtracted) from ground balls and caused turnovers (minus penalties committed).

Gills finished 5th in the Faceoff Elo ratings. Baldwin finished 16th. Together, they put PSU 3rd in the overall opponent-adjusted FO ratings this year. (Up from 5th in 2025).
• Combined for the 13th best winning percentage nationally (58.1%).
• Gills’s faceoff win percentage ranked 10th nationally and 2nd in the B1G (61.2%).
• Balwin’s faceoff win percentage ranked 31st nationally and 4th in the B1G (55.0%).
Oh, and both are back next season.

I'd say #d3lax has their cinderalla but a 20-0 team probably doesnt fit the slipper. That said, not sure anyone had them advancing out of the pod. Truly remarkable.
