What’s the fuss with photon-counting CT (PCCT) for coronary imaging? A recent Images in Radiology showed the benefit of ultra-high-resolution PCCT for visualizing coronary in-stent restenosis (doi.org/10.1148/radiol.25249…). #medtwitter#pcct
(9/10) A couple of notes:
-Highlights the importance of contrast for detecting in-stent stenosis over more resolution
-Utilized very simple model/geometry that may limit generalizability
-Requires additional clinical validation to ensure accuracy
(10/10)
-Optimal visualization of in-stent stenosis with PCCT can be achieved in standard resolution mode with VMI 40 keV, a kernel of Bv72, and a matrix size of 1024 x 1024.
-Limitations: no motion, single stent, concentric non-calcified plaque

so I've been really bad about commenting on my latest science endeavors but to give you an idea, it's been a bit of travel. 3/4 Amtrak trains for said travel have resulted in engine/mechnical malfunctions leading to delays of 1+ hours. it's been a long 1.5 months.
I'm so grateful to the AAPM Expanding Horizons grant! It let me explore @SIRspecialists to better understand current IR research as well as the future. I look forward to doing more IR-related work in my career.
We're 3 weeks away from our @aapmHQ#WGST#ExpandingHorizons grant deadline! See what one of our past winners @leanandlearn had to say about her experience! Applications for our spring review cycle close March 15!
