Here's the explanation that nobody seems to understand:
The US dollar has lost 36% of its value since 2008.
When you adjust for inflation, gas per gallon today drops from $4.47 to $2.86 per gallon.
Now sure, you'll say that the barrel of oil costs less today, but that doesn't account for the costs of transportation, refining, delivery, and retail sale.... all of which cost 36% more today than they did in 2008.
Back in 2008 oil damn near hit $148 a barrel and gas was around 4 bucks.
Now oil is way lower and somehow we’re still paying more at the pump.
You can throw out all the excuses you want, but regular people know when something smells fishy.
Something ain’t right.
