Your long-awaited Josh Hoey update. The 26-year-old, who has not raced since breaking the indoor 800m world record in January, was caught in an injury cycle, culminating in a stress fracture in his lower left leg. He's now back to training. letsrun.com/news/2026/09/jos…

After losing both world records over the last 3 years, the Berlin Marathon is hoping to get one back on Sunday. They're hyping Tigst Assefa's run as an attempt on Ruth Chepngetich's dubious 2:09:56 WR. Assefa just says she wants to PR (2:11:53). letsrun.com/news/2026/09/can…

Ask the sprinters/jumpers.
What a terrible situation we have with the women’s world record for the marathon (2:09:56). Although it was ratified, it is my own opinion that it was dirty. How are clean athletes ever going to break it?

This morning, Sweden's Andreas Almgren had something tucked inside the back of his shorts as he snapped Africa's 30-year win streak at the World Half Marathon Championships with a European record of 58:06. What was it? We have the answer. letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.…

We hate to say it, but the answer is simple. A team of 9:00 guys will slaughter a team of 9:45 guys. Are we even sure a team full of 9:45 guys would win D1 women’s nationals? 3 of NC states top 4 had pbs in the 8:40s for 3k.
How many other D1 Head Coaches are still grinding out phone calls to 9:36 3200m guys? How am I still getting “big-timed” by kids who aren’t finishing in the top 50 of their state? I can either build my program with 9:45 guys from NJ or sub 9:00 guys from Europe.

"Grand Slam Track showed that attracting athletes is the easy part. Attracting fans, sponsors, and revenue is where it gets hard." Good piece on the third edition of Athlos, which takes place in London tonight Features two Irish athletes: Rhasidat Adeleke and Sophie O'Sullivan
Through two years, Athlos’ vibes have been great. But a pro sports venture cannot survive on vibes alone. Athlos was meant to expand in 2026, but wound up cancelling its NYC event. A look at the state of the series ahead of today’s Athlos London meet: letsrun.com/news/2026/09/ath…

Jakob wins global title 7 months post-Achilles surgery. Josh Kerr = Roger Bannister? A woman breaks a men's American record by running 636 miles in 6 days.
