Last summer,
Manchester United were in a serious need of a goalkeeper.
We had eyes on Senne Lammens and Emiliano Martinez.
We were exploring a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma also but that never came to reality.
No attempt was made.
We approached this demonic club called Aston Villa for a 32-year old Dibu.
This club said we should bring 40 million of the queen’s finest currency.
Vivell, Wilcox and Berreda pack their kaya and went to get Senne Lammens.
One year later, Villa are selling him for £7.5 million.
God sees all.
🚨💣 BREAKING: Chelsea reach verbal agreement to sign Emiliano Martínez, HERE WE GO! 🔵🇦🇷
Club to club agreement with Aston Villa on fee worth £7.5m for permanent move.
Dibu gave green light to #CFC yesterday and clubs agreed on terms today, as @TeleFootball reported.

I wrote this in 2022, days before the World Cup in Qatar began.
Om Messi and Lionel Scaloni’s bond, two heroes who weren’t “Made in Argentina.”
It’s still one of my favorite pieces for The Athletic.
