🔬Los investigadores de CEQUINOR, Lucas Rodríguez Pirani y Lorena Picone, realizaron su 2da estadía en el Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron (SIRIUS, LNLS), perteneciente al Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materiais (CNPEM) ubicado en Campinas, Brasil. #sirius #LNLS
Los investigadores del CEQUINOR, Lucas Rodríguez Pirani y Lorena Picone, han realizado la semana pasada su segunda estadía en el Laboratório Nacional de Luz Síncrotron (SIRIUS, LNLS), una de las fuentes de luz más avanzadas del mundo, perteneciente al Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Energia e Materiais (CNPEM) ubicado en la ciudad de Campinas, Brasil. En el marco del estudio de microplásticos como contaminantes antrópicos del medio ambiente, estudiaron en colaboración con el Instituto Antártico Argentino, la presencia de microplásticos en muestras atmosféricas obtenidas en las inmediaciones de la base antártica Carlini, ubicada en la península Potter de la Isla 25 de Mayo perteneciente a las Shetland de Sur, Península Antártica. Los estudios fueron realizados empleando espectroscopia micro-FTIR en la línea de trabajo IMBUIA del SIRIUS. Los investigadores agradecen el apoyo recibido por el CNPEM y los responsables de de la línea de trabajo en el LNLS.

Here's my #LightSourceSelfie @DiamondLightSou! I'm in the dark room to add a caged molecule to my enzyme crystals. We then shoot them with a laser to release the molecule. By getting the structure with X-rays 10 ms or 1 s later, we can see what the enzyme does with it!
