In Craigend, a young boy is said to have been lured toward a drug ridden house where three foreign men were present. Behind the White Rose Hall, another young boy is reported to have been approached by a foreign man. That hall is a youth club. It is where children are meant to be safe. This did not start this week. No more than three months ago, another foreign male is reported to have exposed himself and sexually played with himself beside that same community centre. That is why the community stood in Parkhead. Because prevention is the answer, and dealing with the trauma after something has happened to a wean is not. The politicians are not listening. Housing, the NHS, youth services and safeguarding are already at breaking point, and this community is done being told to keep quiet. Before any adult, whatever their colour or their faith, the children come first. It is the duty of families and neighbours to raise these concerns. If that means gathering in your own community and making a stand, do it. We stand publicly with any community that voices these fears. Ignore it, and it will only get louder and bigger.
