how did you get better? I moved on
Carl Jung was right when he said: in my experience, I have found that the solutions to all of life’s most intractable problems are not found through any form of intellect or cleverness. They are solved simply by moving on.

Guy who devotes 15 hours a day to optimizing his diet and lifestyle: crippling headache in a first class lounge Guy who’s 5 martinis deep at 8 am when he hears the last call for his flight: able to sprint a quarter mile to make it in time while holding his McDonald’s happy meal
sitting in an airport lounge, headache within 30 minutes. last time i was here (SJO) co2 level was 1200-2000ppm in this lounge. i don't think we understand how bad air is in places like this and how negatively it affects us.

You gotta know when an era of your life has expired. A lot of stress and mood disorders are caused by people clinging onto periods that are over. You can save yourself from a lot of unnecessary pain by promptly restructuring your life at the close of each cycle.

Out of the 8 billion people in the world, perhaps 5 billion would consider moving to England's green & pleasant land. You ought to be able to select Stoppards, Eliots, Conrads, Herschels, and Erasmuses. But, you feel it necessary to let in Afghans who rape seven times as often?
Our analysis suggests that Afghans are convicted of sex crimes in England and Wales at seven times the British rate. But the numbers need to be kept in perspective economist.com/britain/2026/1…

I’ve hardened my heart to a lot over the years but watching an older White guy, who clearly has teleported in from a prior, moribund high trust society that our elites killed off for better quarterly earnings, really makes me feel like shit. You can see the dying zeitgeist breaking over his face like a passing storm.

0% of harvards incoming class in jewish this is clear anti semitism
Harvard's class of 2030 is 66% minority--43.2% Asian, 11.4% Hispanic, 9.3% black, 2% Native American/Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. What percentage white? Following yearslong practice, the school did not release numbers for white students. Plus: The data is not totally reliable because Harvard included "only students who reported their race," and 9% did not. self-possession is underrated. There should be something inside of you success and failure cannot move. That events of the day cannot touch. That no one else can change. Other than yourself.

Even 10 years ago when I first started working we would skip out early afternoon on Fridays and there would be executives drinking for hours with us all on the banks tab. Now we do company happy hours twice a year and everyone leaves after an hour and no one senior joins

I work in banking and now we get one free beer at 4pm on Friday. People I work with that are only 10-15 years older than me said when they’d close a deal back then the deal team would leave office at noon and get blasted and not come back regardless of the day.
