Your lack of monthly #domain sales comes down to two main factors: 1. Quality of your domains is too low. 2. Size of your domain portfolio is too small. Fix #1 before you fix #2 — you’re gonna win 🏆. Fix #2 before you fix #1 — you’re screwed 🪛.

Experience in domain investing doesn’t mean knowing which names will sell. It means getting a little better at recognizing the odds.

I just used #ChatGPT to fix my toilet myself. Even plumbers are in trouble due to #AI, er, #SI.

Domain Investing vs Cybersquatting 🔴 Domain investing and cybersquatting are not the same. Buying useful words: coffee .si for a coffee business travel .si for a travel company gardening .si for gardening services These names could appeal to many different buyers. Targeting someone else’s brand: Registering nike .si, tesla-support .si or google-slovenia .si just to make Nike, Tesla or Google pay you. These are examples only, not claims about their current owners. Ask yourself: “Am I buying a useful name, or hoping to profit from someone else’s brand?” Even everyday words can be trademarks, so check before buying. The name, your purpose and how you use it matter. WIPO guidance Buy smart. Don’t let .si excitement turn into an expensive mistake.

Darcy nailed it. Already hearing from brokers that they're seeing an uptick in .io interest. A friend just sold a .io for 6 figures to a company rebranding from a .ai.
One of the strengths of TLDs like .io and .xyz is that they don't have a specific inherent meaning. They can develop strong usage within certain niches without being dependent on that meaning. If a TLD has a specific meaning, that meaning can also become a major weakness if the market shifts. That's the risk we're seeing with ai to si

What you're seeing is speculation and some brand protection which is valid. You just don't do away with 50 years of a term ingrained into people's vocabulary just because someone says so. In any case, there would still be brand protection coming in any scenario from both sides.

'Super' is a relative term and the goalposts always moving. Just seems like a trendy term to me. I expect companies will move to protect and grab their .si in some cases but Artificial Intelligence will always be the master term I think. The only measure is to see what big companies do. Will OpenAI become OpenSI? Will X.ai become X.si? (No, because it can't, one character .si do not exist). I do think there's an opportunity for .si speculators to make money, but I have my doubts on whether retail will adopt it anywhere close to .ai.

Here here! Thank you, Zak @DNattorney!
Advocacy in action! ICA General Counsel, Zak Muscovitch, (@DNattorney) has submitted a formal complaint to the BBC regarding its incorrect use of the term "cyber-squatting" to describe lawful domain name investment in this article: bbc.com/news/articles/cqx2z2… The ICA condemns cybersquatting. Legitimate domain investing is a lawful activity and must not be conflated with abusive registration targeting trademark rights. Accurate reporting matters, and we have asked the BBC to correct its terminology. #DomainAdvocacy #DomainIndustry #DomainInvesting #TrademarkLaw #MediaAccountability

I underestimated demand for .si domains. In 24 hours, we've seen several five-figure sales on Atom and at least a dozen four-figure deals. Some are strong one-word names. Others look like blind dictionary buys. It's hard to know how many are end users. Nothing wrong with riding a trend. Just don't buy blind.
