🚨🇮🇪 It is understood that #SaintsFC’s Finn Azaz, who has Israeli heritage so deep that he's on record as saying that his maternal grandmother was "a general in the IDF", made an impassioned speech to his international teammates at a meeting in Pristina on Friday, and again at another meeting in Debrecen, Hungary.
It's not yet known if Azaz's words swayed the Ireland squad members who were on the fence about playing tonight’s game against Israel.
Azaz is ‘likely to have given a view of the Israeli side of the debate, not easy to do when faced with what we can imagine is an ingrained opposition to that country's actions in Gaza and Lebanon’.
Whether Azaz wants to play for Ireland again is in doubt.
