Clear Winner: Tanaka 50cc 2 cycle shaft driven edger. Plenty of power and the solid steer drive shaft does not slip. 3 wheels better than 4 for cutting around the mound and cutouts. Wide front wheel has good balance when lifting up the back 2 for turning.

Inserting a key w/ minimal resistance & taking it out w/ little if any disruption simulates players spike doing the same. No bad hops off cleat marks. Mini pot holes from cleats on harvested or native infield surfaces can cause erratic hops @DuraEdge engineered soils can help.

You can say that again. Kind of like "plucking" edges by hand with utility knife can separate the good from the questionable. Hand pulling cores on corners, angles, and or high profile edges made good agronomic sense. Also here back filling with porous ceramic.
