There is so much evidence that Jaguars lived all the way up to the Carolinas just 300 years ago. The Jaguar should be right up there with the other iconic American animals: the Bison, the Grizzly, the Bald Eagle, & so on. The Jaguar is a North American animal 🐆

So when we were on stream my dad called & I didn’t answer, but I should have… he’d just seen a Mountain Lion in Western North Carolina (where my parents live). He said it was laying on the gravel road & slowly stood up as his truck was approaching & he got within 15-20ft of it before it casually walked off into the forest as he drove by — that’s why he kept calling on stream. As a side note: we had an animal farm with hundreds of cats for over 20 years - my dad knows what house cats look like. He said it was a big tannish cat with “at-least” a two foot long tail & that it was no big hurry to get out of the way. Mind blown. Maybe I need to get some game cameras & set up something around that area before I go to Africa for a few weeks?
