The ironic thing about the success of the Rays and Brewers is that by the time teams like the Os catch up the league will have adjusted and the formula won’t work anymore

One of the only existing groves of American Chestnut trees is scheduled to be destroyed next month to make room for a datacenter. I made an entire video about what this tree meant and the efforts to bring it back that have lasted decades. Consumption knows nothing of sacrament.

This was possibly the most frustrating aspect for the team. Seemed like a ton of this activity happened with two outs. They'd be about to escape a jam, 1-2 with 2 outs, and it's a 50-foot dribbler that scores a run and keeps the inning going.
Orioles Starting Pitchers this year gave up 330 hits with 2 strikes That ranked 2 most in the League 7.8% of their 2 Strike pitches resulted in a hit Also 2nd most in the League 163 on Fastballs.. 3rd most in the League Hitters never uncomfortable in the box with 2 strikes

I can make one dish that will feed me two times a day for four days, 8 meals, for the price of one burger and fries from a normal restaurant. This is not just unpopular. It’s insanely incorrect.
unpopular opinion: buying groceries is NOT cheaper than eating out for a single person.

The answer is simple: 9/11
I’m not a millennial, but I’ve always found this interesting. A lot of millennials seem unusually attached to childhood nostalgia well into adulthood. Not just remembering it fondly, but actively revisiting it, recreating it, and sometimes even trying to experience things they feel they missed growing up. From cartoons and video games to fandoms, toys, collectibles, and childhood franchises, nostalgia seems to play a much bigger role in millennial culture than it does for Gen Z or older generations. Maybe it’s because they grew up during the transition from an analog world to a digital one. Maybe it’s because childhood felt more optimistic before social media, smartphones, and constant online pressure became the norm. I don't necessarily think it's cringe. If anything, it's a fascinating generational trait. But it does make me wonder: Why do millennials seem so much more interested in reliving childhood than the generations before or after them?

No the fuck they didn’t. lol. We raised that money ourselves on Friday night fun nights selling airheads, dumbass. They had a budget that was required to be spent.
You laugh as a kid, but as an adult you realise that teachers bought that with their own money on an insulting salary just to make 30 kids smile

There is a strong correlation between the number of penalties a player commits and his Wonderlic score. It… might not be the coaching.
Very likely took at least 3 points off the board. If it was Harbaugh we’d be all over the coaching. Jesse Minter’s Ravens are poorly coached. Top 5 in penalties, top 10 in yards. 8/68 at half time. The penalties are unacceptable. Unacceptable.

We are quietly isolating an entire generation of older people from society, and nobody seems to give a damn. I took my 84-year-old grandfather to his local bank branch on Friday. The exact same brick-and-mortar branch where he opened his first account in 1978. We pull up to the front doors. They’re locked. Inside is an empty lobby with a small sign: “Cashless Service Hub.” A young guy in a polo shirt opens the door and tells us: “We don't handle teller deposits or paper checks here anymore. You just need to download the mobile portal and scan your routing number.” My grandfather pulls out an old flip phone with a cracked screen and a paper pension check from his coat pocket. His hands were visibly shaking. The employee just shrugs. “You can do it on an iPad, or have a family member manage the app for you.” This man worked forty-two years in a manufacturing plant. Paid his taxes. Fought for this country. And now he is made to feel completely useless and stripped of his dignity because he doesn't own an iOS device. Tech isn't making life easier if it completely locks out the people who built the world we’re living in. Are your elderly parents or grandparents running into this wall too?

Hot take: people who didn’t play a sport, no matter how they were involved day to day, should not be doing this.
Colts Owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon is asking coaches why plays were called in London 😂 Imagine having her as an owner 😳
Community note
Carlie Irsay-Gordon has observed Colts sideline communications with a headset and playbook for over a decade to learn operations, not to question or direct coaches about specific plays. This practice long predates the London game and does not involve interference. colts.com/news/carlie-ir… heavy.com/sports/nfl/ind… hitc.com/indianapolis-c…

If the vast majority of your pitchers are sub-95 (2023-first half of 2026), why in the WORLD wouldn’t the Fo let Jim then how to paint the corners? That’s literally how a 93MPH fastball pitcher stays sub-5 ERA… This is truly mind boggling.
The O’s do invite former players to Sarasota . McDonald, Markakis, Roberts, Jones, Cal, etc. I got invited 1 year. I asked what my role would be.. watch PGP’s, and bullpens. I asked about teaching the low and away fastball.,was not going to happen. All the spring games are telecast out of the warehouse in Baltimore, remotely…

Adam Jones reveals the blunt message Buck Showalter gave him after his first bad effort play about being who you say you are and the little things becoming the big things “There’s two instances. It’s third day there. I hit a bullet ground ball to the third baseman. You’re watching a double play get turned right in front of you, but the first baseman happened to drop the ball.” “Does it ever look good when you’re halfway through it and you know you ain’t running hard? Never does. You’re still out, but it never looks good.” “So after the game, he brings me in and says, ‘Hey, I heard you’re supposed to be the star here. Bleepin act like it.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’” “It was just an extra incentive like, hey, we’re always watching. The fans are always watching. People are always watching. You’re an example. Show it. Go out there and really play as hard as you can.” “He was so anal about being fundamentally sound. When the outfield misses a cut, it’s two bases. When the infield does, it’s one.” “Defense was our strong suit. We played phenomenal defense and it was an attitude every single day, because you’re not going to hit every day.” “But you can play defense every day. You can run the bases hard every day. You can do the intangibles every single day. And that’s what Buck was always paying attention to.”
