The atmosphere will probably get more serious. Up to this point its been pretty lighthearted and with relatively low stakes. Lilith has her fingers in both heaven and hell and no doubt as her own agenda. Charlie just wants to please her and she might have to make hard choices...
So from the hazbin season 2 commentary, apparently once Lilith is in the story, it will change the atmosphere of the show completely. I’m so scared.

Common misconception among divorcees: the kids won't notice if you pretend everything is fine. Via could tell her parents hated each other. Stolas was both lying to her and himself in pretending they could make it work forever. He really believed that until he couldn't anymore.
I hope this season we can understand everything a little better, because either Stolas was an expert at hiding his suffering and pretending everything was fine or Via was locked in her headphones 24 hours a day 🤔

I think Via to a degree also believed he could make it work, because the alternative was him eventually leaving. I think she resents him for lying, believing that he had everything figured out as adults are supposed to, but not realizing how naive he really is.
