The Physical AI narrative is growing fast.
Humanoid robots, autonomous systems and world models are moving from research concepts toward real-world applications.
But there’s a fundamental problem underneath all of this:
AI needs data from the physical world.
Internet data can teach a model about text, images and videos, but robots need to understand actual environments streets, buildings, stores, objects and spaces that can change over time.
That’s the problem @vangrid_io is building around.
Vangrid turns smartphones into a distributed 3D capture network, allowing real-world data to be collected on demand.
The interesting part is that the captures can also have their provenance anchored onchain, creating a verifiable layer around physical-world data.
And Vangrid isn’t just pitching a future product.
Its web and Android products have been live since July 2026, with network activity that can be checked through its explorer and data dashboard.
The project also raised a $9M seed round backed by HashKey Capital, Animoca Brands, Borderless Capital, Crypto.com Capital, Gate Labs and Mapleblock Capital.
There’s a bigger picture here.
Better robots need better models.
Better models need better training data.
And Physical AI needs data that actually comes from the physical world.
Vangrid is positioning itself around that data layer using devices people already carry every day to help build infrastructure for the next generation of Physical AI.

Rally just landed on Robinhood Chain. The project I want to see next is @Morpho.
There’s a simple test I’d love to see in a campaign: show someone a yield opportunity, then take away the APY number.
Can they still explain what they’re actually earning, where the yield comes from, and what they’re taking on to earn it?
That feels especially relevant as more people discover onchain finance through Robinhood.
The best campaign wouldn’t tell users that Morpho is worth using. It would make the mechanics understandable enough that users can decide for themselves.
That’s the kind of education I think is worth rewarding.

I think the interesting thing about @sleepagotchi is that they’re not really leaving Sleepagotchi behind.
They’re building around what it already gave them.
Sleepagotchi started with sleep and gradually moved into recovery, activity, wearables, AI coaching and rewards. Now Gotchi Labs is taking that same consumer foundation into shopping, fitness, productivity and eventually personal finance.
The agent approach is probably the part worth watching here. Instead of one AI trying to be useful for everything, Gotchi is building specialized agents around specific parts of daily life, with the wider ecosystem connecting context, intelligence, action and eventually commerce.
They also already have integrations across Apple Watch, Fitbit, Oura, WHOOP, CUDIS and Pulse, so the system isn’t being built around an empty data layer.
Then there’s $CHI, which is being positioned as the common access, rewards and commerce layer across the ecosystem.
That makes the latest announcement feel less like a rebrand and more like a change in scope.
@sleepagotchi was the product.
Gotchi Labs is the ecosystem they’re trying to build around it.
