The difference is that there are already tons of alternatives to your Stalkr product built by your audience (indie hackers and wannabes) years before you even thought about this idea. They do not need to buy this from you; even more, you promoting your own alternative to their products makes them angry instead.

Are you at all concerned about disappointing stalkers who think “finally an app for me”

Do you feel like this could also be because one of them is more of a painkiller than the other?

well the stalkr name is misleading - I guess most of the visitors were expecting a platform that helps them efficiently stalk their favourite celeb with AI assist. that's why you have the numbers, it is not easy to stalk Dua Lipa these days with all the security etc 😅

Wow, how is that possible?? What do you think might be wrong with Stalkr?

Because there's an alert from google its free, that's why maybe people don't want to pay more?

Two years of shipping beats one lucky week every time

So far yeah, ive been trying to make money from, if i remember correctly 15 tries, including this one. So far made about 400$ of total income (although most of that cost was going back into it because of material costs.). Hopefully this one will be better.

Would like to see you using stalkr for yourself and showing us what one can do with it

Going viral leads to many people come in, wandering a while, then leave without doing anything.

The difference in conversation rate is wild

I think both can complement each other. Going viral can get you visibility which works for your long term business

That conversion rate difference is kinda crazy.

A viral spike gets attention. Two years of paying customers tells you if there is a business.

Virality & Audience ≠ Revenue.

People don’t understand ‘virality does not equal revenue’

Great lens! I wonder if stalkr is a feature and not a product. In the age of building easier - I fall on that sword a lot

The first didn’t convert much

Absolutely felt like building a simple analytics platform in my free time the other day, but came across datafa.st and changed my mind 😅

Going viral is fun until you realize it doesn't pay the rent, It is all about converting the attention you get, Thats why we built FollowToDM to fix this exact problem on Instagram, It automatically DMs new followers the second they follow you, so you never miss a chance to turn a viral moment into real revenue

2 years of building > one viral post imo..

Thanks for bringing all that up, dude! Don't you think the game has changed now and we're not in the "ship ship ship" mode anymore, but rather building something solid with real distribution thinking?

Ended my own launch-spike experiment this morning. 50 and building after my day job, launched a directory on Sep 8 and nobody has fed a listing since day 8. Did the viral one keep anyone past week one?
