Are you overlooking all those that ran off to the bank to get a 25 year mortgage fixed at 0.05% for 5 years during covid thats now reaching maturity?
Just because the leeching banks wanted people to splurge on something they couldn't afford?
I’m no economist, I have a basic knowledge at best.
Maybe it’s just bad news bias, but the UK outlook feels bleak to me.
- The FTSE 100 is at a 3-month low
- Inflation is up to 3.1%, 4% expected early next year.
- Energy costs are surging with diesel heading for £2 a litre
- 10-year gilt yields are around 5.45%, the highest since 2007.
On top of that, more high earners are reportedly leaving.
If this keeps going, are we heading for a recession, or am I blowing the figures out of proportion?
