Last time I looked, Cleveland is comparatively well funded per capita, but for reasons I don't understand massively cut it's officer numbers during austerity. As a consequence they are still well down on pre-austerity levels.

In terms of the government grant, per capita funding in Cleveland is the 3rd highest in E&W; with the precept it's about 5th. police-foundation.org.uk/202…

Note here that the other 2 north-east forces have been granted ‘exceptional flexibility’ in raising their precept rates about the 4.99% cap whilst Cleveland hasn’t…how will this play out in equalisation terms if a north-east mega force is established…is anybody doing the maths?
