Not sure how it happened but a bus crashed into a building near Tottenham Court Road Station. Police, Fire Brigade and ambulance in attendance.

Is anyone really interested in this UEFA Nations League contest? We should be looking forward to the Premier League this weekend but it's not back another 2 weeks!

I think Ed deserves credit and support for this. He will have driven it, and fair play to the PM for listening. Many wanted us to go further. We may yet, but this is a start and it should be welcomed. The backlash from the US is already coming. That’s no surprise, given Trump and what he stands for. Being on the wrong side of the worst President of the modern era is probably a good place to be on this issue. It remains to be seen how the government will stop settlement goods and services being laundered through Israel proper. But it’s a good start, and one that will mean a great deal to Palestinians, and to people here and abroad who want a values-based Britain. There are signs from the Foreign Secretary’s statement that this is part of a wider reset of relations with Israel, and hopefully more active support for Palestinians. This offers encouragement that more will follow. These positions are the bare minimum a Labour government should be taking, and it should never have taken so long to get here. For the moment though, it’s encouraging to see the party living up to some of our shared collective values. theguardian.com/world/2026/s…

A Bank Holiday Monday trip to @NationalTheatre to see The Story. Interesting play, lots of twists and turns, well worth watching.

I was at Baker Street but there are trains on the Metropolitan line because of a fire at Neasden. So I walked to Marylebone Station and there are no trains from there either as there is a fire near Harrow on the Hill. So I'm stranded!

Tried but failed to get a photo showing the solar #eclipse in London. It was spectacular to see though.

A sign I'm getting old. I have a drawer full of random cables that I don't use any more but refuse to throw away because I'm convinced one day I might need them.

I've not watched much of this year's Commonwealth Games and I don't know much about netball but that match was epic. Well done Jamaica. 🇯🇲
Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls scored a sensational one goal 46-45 win over defending champions and world number one ranked Australia in Saturday’s semi-final of the netball competition at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. The win was revenge for an equally close loss in the final four years ago in Birmingham, UK and saw the Jamaicans qualify for back-to-back finals. jamaicaobserver.com/2026/08/…
