I’ve now built “XTV” into my Roku device, and it works seamlessly. @elonmusk I think X should make something like this for premium users, it’s super useful for monitoring the situation.
Just created XTV, which is an app that allows your X account to be turned into a TV network and play in your TV/Projector. The videos are pulled in from your preferences/likes/bookmarks/accounts you've engaged with etc - so the playlist is your playlist. It allows you to skip forward to other videos and it has an overlay of your X feed on the right side as well as active notifications for people engaging with your account. I think this is a useful feature and i really wish the X team would build it for real and have it compatible for every TV. Will tinker with it a bit more and then will package up the code if anyone is interested. @X @elonmusk

Lil' Vader' Mace Windu is an instant classic, but I would put my Lil' Frodo's One Ring, One Road tune up against it. It would be super cool to have a Grok Bot music video contest; call it SlopFest. What do you think @elonmusk?
Most people have heard Lil' Vader's "Mace Windu", but I think Lil' Frodo is where it's at. "One Ring, One Road" Suno + Runway + Grok + Claude

I really need this
The Electra Clock Radio Telephone from the 1980s. Peak retro-futurist design.

For those enjoying my Lil' Frodo tune, here's the clapback by Sauron, with his hit song "Murdered in Mordor" Grok + Suno + Kling

Making music videos with AI is the ultimate challenge; and it's a lot of fun. Grok is very good at it, but paired with Suno and Runway it really shines. I think @elonmusk should have a Grok music video contest. Here's Vegeta from DBZ rapping "Never Kneel" for all the DBZ fans out there.
Without AI how would we ever get Dragon Ball Z rap songs and music videos? Here's Vegeta singing "Never Kneel" Grok + Suno + Runway

Notice the continued use of "twitter" not "X". I think the issue is phonetic. Twitter feels like a complete word phonetically: Twit-ter; most iconic brand names have two or three syllables. X is inherently awkward to say; feels incomplete. You can pair it with "on" - "on X" to make it more palatable, which is natural and most people do. Without that prepped preposition, though, the single letter lacks mouthfeel and remains an awkward replacement to the very complete-sounding "Twitter" word.
twitters you do not want to upset, in order: 1. hindutva twitter 2. leftist twitter 3. film twitter (heavy overlap with 2) 4. polysemanticity twitter 5. right wing twitter (most of twitter)

There is this wonderful built-in mechanism in tyrannical regimes where the tyrant, accustomed to ruling by fear, ends up with large blindspots that cause their undoing. This is why rule by fear does not scale, unlike rule by respect or kindness.
Reminder that an anonymous Theranos employee discussed the whole fraud (without naming the company) on a popular subreddit years before the WSJ broke the story

This type of dynamism gives old movie industry LA/Hollywood vibes where everyone was working on some movie/series. Money was flowing in to serve the insatiable demand. In that case - as with many others - the end product was entertainment; maybe software is the new entertainment. Perhaps it has been entertainment for a while now.
Field note from my brief trip to SF last week: - a studio costs 6k / month, with YC bros wanting to move in ASAP - planes flying around with ads all day long - one ad is Monaco. I asked my friend what’s that. They said “ai sales. They have not raised much”. Then I checked. They have raised 80M - people introduce their companies as “we are similar to crusoe / modal / muse with xxx different” - a friend jealous about their college roommate’s company getting acquired at $2B two years in. They started right out of school - someone’s poker friend made 60m in 100 days selling RL data to big labs - if you have a somewhat cool resume, you can go to sponsored fancy dinner parties everyday if you wish. There’s always a startup that sponsor it for marketing or recruiting - 10M angel round, filled in 3 days Perhaps a technology paradise. At least a very special place and time.

I got every helicopter expert and pilot in the U.S. rattled by this idea - they lack imagination. Let me solve your problem for you: 1 - "it's too heavy" - no; the assembly is 260kg (550lbs); you make the helicopter autonomous, remove the pilot and you can offset a lot of the weight. 2 - "it won't work because the helicopter won't be in the right position" - the video is an example; the thrusters would be in more locations than shown. 3 - "the helicopter already does this, it's called autorotation!" - cool, then why are helicopters absolute death traps? Put the thrusters on it. 4 - "it's not worth the weight for the edge case of a crash" - yeh ok i personally will fly in the thruster-strapped heli, you can take your chances on the other one. Look how cool it would look:

This is the kind of idea that sounds cool at first and then you start understanding what animals are saying and you immediately regret it.
The new XPRIZE on Interspecies Communication, with a $10M purse will launch next month. It will challenge teams to demonstrate ethical, verified two-way communication with wild animals, advancing coexistence and cooperation. Dr. Irene Pepperberg spoke to us today about her pioneering work with grey parrots, training them in English to perform many tasks at 6-year old human skill level. “Clearly, animals know more than we think and think a great deal more than we know.” It wasn’t easy when she started. The feedback to her first grant review: “what are you smoking?” And now, her parrots ask questions and learn from the answers. They ask for what they want. She has taught her parrots 100 English labels for objects and materials, exact quantities up to 8 (and addition and subtraction), colors, shapes, materials, concepts like same/different, absence, a zero-like concept (absence of a set, on his own, with no training), relative size comparisons, optical illusions, and they make new word combinations (calling the banana chip “banacker” for a banana cracker). They have a visual working memory (tracking moving cups) that beats adults with 4 swaps. They do inference by exclusion (when you show where food is not located, they figure out where it is). Bird brains look very different at first, a smooth unfolded organ with no cerebral cortex, but further research found a relatively large cortical area similar to non-human primates in relative size and connectivity. They have a dense processor, doing same thing as human children. “Bird brain should be a complement,” she concluded.

I seem to have triggered the helicopter experts on X, so let me double down. Put anti-collision thrusters on airplanes. @elonmusk can you just put thrusters into any flying vehicle?

Imagine suiting up to go to work for the Cybernetics Division to fix the servers in space. Yeh, Cybernetics is a better word than superintelligence.
I don't mind the term superintelligence, but Cybernetics has way more aura.
