hi, i’m mars. ex-founder, GTM.
looking to meet cool ppl.
who should i know?
last year:
-joined a venture that writes €1M checks
-built brand, GTM & IRL event moats
-got into hot yoga, running & weights
-started learning AI GTM (video is next)
-lived in rio🇧🇷 & buenos aires🇦🇷
Jacob is correct here—we really do earnestly believe AI could kill all humans! I personally think it is >10% within the next decade. I believe Anthropic is trying its best, but we do not yet have a plan to solve alignment for superintelligence and are not clearly on track to.
1/ Listened to the YETI founders on "How I Built This" this morning, and there's a naming lesson in there that I often share with founders:
Don't go with the least common denominator name everyone likes — pick the name that does the job you gave it that they can't forget.
brands with personality are going to be the new standard.
looking cool is no longer enough. brands need to evoke strong emotions: awe, anger, cute aggression, deep nostalgia, unhinged freedom.
those emotions will need to transcend the screen too. IRL is the ultimate interface.
maybe aliveness isn’t always found through novelty.
after 2 years of moving, 10 airbnbs, and chasing the perfect place, i finally chose to come home.
maybe aliveness comes from staying somewhere long enough for creativity, friendship, and belonging to grow.
we are living through a tech renaissance
where design, beauty, philosophy, taste, culture, psychology, and physical fitness matter. what an inspiring era.
"I actually don't think live like you are dying is very helpful advice. Live like you are living. Live like you got your whole life in front of you, and just be your strongest, healthiest, and best self.
Everything that I have told you is just more and more confirmed to me. Try to take over the world.
Try to accomplish everything that you can in this life. Use your strength to its greatest ends that you can.
Everyone dies. Rich people, wealthy people. Julius Caesar's dead. Alexander the Great is dead. Achilles is dead. My grandpa is dead.
It's not that romantic. I'm not that special because I'm dying. It's actually one of the most common, unremarkable facts of life,
I have a family that I love very much. I have four wonderful children and a tremendously supportive wife.
I have found my vocation in life, my calling. I have loved being a podcaster and speaking to all of you and sharing what I have learned. And so I would just say, don't let death catch you unprepared."

The moment you stop being precious about your life plans - and start leaning into intuition and serendipity - is when the truly great things will happen.
