❌Bad news for women in the UK: On Jan 31 new legislation comes in increasing barriers to entry for women angel investors.
➡️Now: investors on angel investing platforms have to earn over £100k.
➡️Jan 31: new legislation raises it to £170k.
😡Issue: This will disproportionally impact the size of the pool of female investors in the UK & founders. Less female angels to invest in female founders, who because they only get 2% of VC money, rely heavily on angel funding.

Sad and unexpected news. As for many in the entrepreneurship education field, Kate was the first person to welcome me into the @EEUK community 16 years ago. She was a bedrock of the ecosystem and loved by all.
Some very sad news this morning.
Our deepest condolences to Kate's family from all at EEUK. She will be greatly missed.
