Germany's new digital ID is "voluntary." Platforms must accept it. The age drops to 13. The privacy feature comes later. And the SPD already wants it mandatory for social media, no VPNs. Voluntary is just phase one.
Germany has passed its national law for the EU Digital Identity Wallet, launching January 2 as “d-you.” The government insists it’s voluntary. Platforms will be legally required to accept it, even where EU rules don’t demand it. The age for using online ID drops from 16 to 13. A ban on automatically sharing biometric photos between passport and ID card authorities has been scrapped. The pseudonym function EU law requires won’t be ready at launch. The SPD already wants the wallet mandatory for social media and has complained that VPNs make it too easy to get around. Every part that expands the system is ready to go. reclaimthenet.org/germany-ap…

So many examples of narrative clashing with realty. Some live comfortably in narrative others grapple with realty.
Trump: Already our prices are much lower. By the way, our oil is much lower. Food prices have come way down. The groceries, so to speak, have come way down.

More than 40% of employers plan to hire no MBAs this year, up from 27% last year. (Drexel) Colleges added 69% more master's programs between 2005 and 2021. The colleges got paid either way. Doug Casey and I wrote The Preparation about the other path. amazon.com/Preparation-Becom…

They supposedly scrapped digital ID. But they kept the login, the wallet, 80 kinds of documents and the age check at the pub. The 80 document types are earmarked for the government's digital wallet, and digital driving licences go national in 2027. But don't worry: no digital ID. x.com/TheRegister/status/211…

Since COVID, emergency powers have become a tool of the state. During riots, it's easy to nod along. That's the slope. Now Italy wants to hold teens 12 hours without a crime and put 500 soldiers with police powers in Milan. They always start with someone nobody will defend. x.com/Reuters/status/2112549…

Pakistan declared an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Oct 11 and removed the elected provincial government. The chief minister has been in "protective custody" since. The governor says no case was filed. Nice thing about an emergency: nobody has to charge you with anything x.com/AsadAToor/status/21124…

Britain's online regulator can't collect its fines from the companies. So it wants AI scanning what you post instead.
Just two tech companies have paid fines to Ofcom for being in breach of the Online Safety Act, Melanie Dawes of Ofcom tells MPs this morning One is being appealed, and one is not yet overdue, leaving a total of nine currently unpaid. "Of the nine that are unpaid in total, two are porn companies that have now implemented highly effective age assurance...  "Another four have geo-blocked the UK. And so that's three that are still available without the risks being mitigated out of the 11 services." "We won't be able to recover every single fine on online safety," she continued. "If foreign courts decide to... try and get in our way, there will be a point at which we have to accept that we won't be able to recover that money. "But we will always seek to go as far as we can. And in the end, what encourages me about the companies we fined is that they've actually done the things that we want to protect the public, and that is the real test of our implementation of the Act."

BlackRock filed for a bitcoin fund that limits losses to about 10% and caps gains. It holds no bitcoin, just options on its other bitcoin fund. Bitcoin's white paper promised payments "without going through a financial institution." Now the financial institution is the product x.com/BitcoinNewsCom/status/…
🇺🇸 BLACKROCK FILES FOR A BITCOIN ETF THAT LIMITS LOSSES, BUILT ON ITS $65 BILLION IBIT The proposed iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF (PBIT) would use options on IBIT to cap each tranche's maximum loss at roughly 10% before fees, in exchange for capping how much of bitcoin's upside holders keep. Fees and cap levels are still blank in the filing. It's built for the cautious advisers and retirement money that have stayed away from bitcoin because of the swings.

The "golden age." Median household income hit a record $87,460 last year. (Census) Priced in gold, that's about 25 ounces. In 2000 the median household earned about 150. A record in dollars mostly tells you what happened to the dollar
President Trump says America has gone from the “dark age” under Democrats to the “golden age” under Republican leadership. He highlights record-high incomes, the lowest poverty rate in history, and the highest exports ever recorded. Trump says the country has secured more than $21 trillion in new investment commitments in just 15 months. He is promising $5,000 to every adult citizen if Republicans keep the House and Senate. The message is that only continued Republican control delivers the results and the dividend.

A Savannah cop gave her Flock login to her husband, an ICE agent with no Flock account. He ran 983 plate searches across six states before an audit caught it. (WJCL) Every camera your town buys is one shared password away from being a federal camera
Savannah cop Amber Harpe just got fired for handing her Flock ALPR login to her ICE agent husband. He used it for 983 searches on 97 plates across 6 states—mostly Hispanic drivers. SPD doesn’t share data with ICE, so this was pure unauthorized access. In this seven second audio conversation you can hear her come clean to police. Another day, another Flock abuse case proving these cameras are a surveillance free-for-all with almost zero real oversight.

They promised the airport face scan was optional and the data got deleted. Turns out TSA couldn't even tell who had copies.
🇺🇸TSA got rugpulled by a surveillance vendor TSA’s own website says you can opt out of facial recognition without any delay or recourse. The DHS Inspector General found the vendor extracted passenger images without TSA knowing. TSA cannot verify what was retained or deleted. The opt out that protects you from TSA does not protect you from TSA’s vendor.

🇸🇪 Your WiFi could soon detect if someone is carrying a HIDDEN GUN Researchers in Sweden have developed an AI system that analyzes WiFi signals to identify concealed handguns, even in a crowded space. The prototype located up to 91.5% of carried objects, distinguishing between guns, phones, and water bottles, although handgun detection was far less reliable. The CRAZY part? it uses the same 5 GHz frequency range as ordinary home WiFi. Imagine walking into a building and the WiFi is already trying to figure out what's inside your pockets 😂 Source: Cybernews / Writer: Sol
