WHY I SERVED AFTER 9/11: A WARNING ON ISLAM On 9/11, nearly 3,000 Americans were murdered. I joined the military to kill the monsters responsible. I deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader. It was the deadliest year of Operation Enduring Freedom. I saw Islam up close. My men and I fought alongside Afghan soldiers. I respected them. I would never want them living in my Iowa neighborhood. I would never want them around my wife and children. They beat their women. They raped little boys. It was culturally acceptable. U.S. troops were told to focus on the mission. We had women attached to my unit. My soldiers had to protect them on every patrol. Local men lingered around them. They had no respect for those women. They would have beaten and raped them if given the chance. As a Platoon Leader, I ran Key Leader Engagements with Afghan elders. Little boys served the tea. Those boys had been sold into slavery and sexually abused by the men in the room. I did not go to Afghanistan to nation-build. I went because Americans were murdered, and somebody had to answer for it. Now Islamists are invading America. Not with planes this time. With open borders and politicians too stupid or too cowardly to stop it. Never forget 9/11. I didn’t fight them over there so we could import them over here.
