i got up early, drove down and across a canyon, up a mountain to a dry creek and dug 8 buckets of dirt out of it. Then back down the mountain, grabbed a breakfast sandwich in a town with a population of 115, then back down and across the canyon to get home by 11am

I love old California place names. The old mining town named First Garrotte rebranded to Groveland and the town next to it was named Second Garrotte, but it became a ghost town so they never changed the name on the maps
