Best load of my career was a 2005 FEMA load for hurricane relief the 1st load after Hurricane Katrina that hit New Orleans. A load of MRE (meals ready to eat) from Norfolk VA to somewhere in Louisiana near N.O. The rate was $18,000 on about 1000 miles. I was a BCO (owner op) with Landstar. Broker got 25% I think. No log book restrictions, drop at final and get paid $1k/day detention till I was unloaded. In Norfolk there were 80% US Express company trucks, 20% lucky Landstar BCOs. I felt lucky and pissed at the same time. $18/mile tax dollars???? They could have gotten all the trucks they needed in 2005 for $6 or even $5/mile… wow

A plastic with super singles and wheel covers moving over dimensional loads is the faggotest shit ever, nevermind the security issues.
