I never get this quote quite right but @mbacowboy says people will do everything except math to solve a problem. Sounds like the ketchy acronym came before any math was done for the new heifer retention LRP

Despite a smaller calf crop, Oct Feeders are $30+ lower than '25's expiration, giving me optimism for a rebound. Short-term, I'm still a pessimist. Technical signs still point lower, imo. Closing below $310, next support is $302-$304.

Feeder cattle futures have dropped 10%+ in Q3 for 8 of the last 10 years. Recent years' rebounds resulted in new highs, but Jan '27 may be the canary in the coal mine.
Breaking $295, a $10-$20 selloff is likely, with a $282 median target.
