Lenskart cannot respect your bindi. Not because they hate you. Because they literally cannot afford to. Let me show you exactly why. Peyush Bansal tweeted: "We are proudly built in Bharat, for Indians." Beautiful line. Terrible lie. Start with the factory. Lenskart's India plant opened in 2023. Before that, China joint venture. That JV still runs today. Frames. Raw materials. Supply chain. All from China. Indian factory mostly assemble. Now look at who owns this "Bharatiya" company. Peyush Bansal: 10.28% Neha Bansal: 7.74% Amit Chaudhary: 0.98% Sumeet Kapahi: 0.96% All four founders combined: 20%. The remaining 80%? SoftBank: Japan. Temasek: Singapore. ADIA: Abu Dhabi. KKR: New York. Fidelity: Boston. Now here is what nobody tells you. Every foreign investor runs ESG compliance. Before writing a cheque. ESG = Environmental, Social, Governance. A scoring system that has nothing to do with Environment. Built in New York and Amsterdam. It decides who gets capital. Inside ESG lives another animal. Called DEI. Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. DEI was designed in America. Built on American horrors. Black minorities. Gender wars. LGBTQ rights. Never designed for India. Does not understand India. Here is what DEI scores as "positive": Hijab at work = Positive signal. Turban at work = Positive signal. Here is what DEI marks as risk: Bindi = Majority religion marker. Tilak = Majority religion. Kalawa = Majority religion. In Western DEI logic, The majority is the oppressor. Majority does not need protection. So when Lenskart's HR writes a grooming policy, They are not writing for you. They write for their colonial masters. Because Lenskart is chasing a $10 billion IPO. Does your bindi sit anywhere in that number? Their first customer is not you. Their first customer is SoftBank. Their first customer is ADIA. Their first customer is an ESG agency in Amsterdam. You buy one pair of glasses. They invest $500 million. Do the math on who Lenskart listens to. Now the government. You think they don't know? They know everything. Every ministry understands how foreign capital erases civilizational identity. SEBI approved the DRHP. Not one clause protecting Hindu identity. Because the government also wants the IPO. GST. Tax. Economic headline. Your kalawa / kada is not in that equation. This is not a Lenskart problem. This is every unicorn in India. Swiggy. Zomato. Ola. Meesho. Zepto. Check their cap tables. Check the ESG reports. Check the grooming policies in their HR folders. Every company 60-80% owned by foreign capital is a branch office of Western values. "Built in Bharat" is a tagline. "For Indians" is a marketing campaign. The policy document tells you who they serve. Your Bindi. Your Kalawa. Your Kada. Your 5,000 years. Irrelevant to billionaires chasing an IPO. But minority appeasement? That scores points in Amsterdam. And we call ourselves an Independent Nation.

Big thread. Strong claims. But reality is more nuanced. Yes, many Indian startups like Lenskart have global investors. Yes, ESG/DEI frameworks influence policies. But saying “bindi = risk” or “they can’t afford to respect it” is an oversimplification. Company policies are usually about uniformity, branding, and legal compliance, not targeting any one identity. Truth: capital is global, culture is local. The tension exists—but it’s not as one-sided as it’s being portrayed

Massive global investments have poured into only 2 sectors in India. 1. Consumption spending and 2. Healthcare. Not in investments Global investors love to take the wallet share of Indians.. serve them quick commerce… fatten them with 15 minutes deliveries.. and then also own Indian healthcare to serve unhealthy and obese Indians. They own the most lucrative part of Indian economy system.

All valid points. But you missed out on the most important part: we don't have any Indian investors who are risk takers (except for Sridhar Vembu). So you have to go with a begging bowl to DEI scum. Look at software coolie billionaires like Narayan 70 Hours Murthy or the feku hindutva stallion Mohandas Pai. Murthy offers only gyaan and Pai funds halal certified Licious. They all fund our enemies in academia like Yale and Harvard to make sure their dumbass brats get an ivy league seat.

EXCELLENT post & analysis. I want to add only two additional points regarding what DEI scores as "positive": (a) Male employees of minority religion: positive. (Male employees of majority religion: NOT positive) (b) Female employees of majority religion: positive. (Female employees of minority religion are also positive, but very, very few of them enter the work force). This automatically leads in many M men and H women in workforce. Result: TCS Nashik like situation in the office.

Thank you for sharing this. Investor is important but is he more imp than the customer? let us look at it this way. What happens if Mkt rejects investors' ESG policy. Will the investors modify their policy ? Answer is a likely yes. Let us become a demanding and assertive Market

As one of the poorest countries in the world, we should chase away all foreign capital so that we become number one in poverty. But at least we will have our religion and culture.

In short you are telling that the govt. is inefficient in customizing the terms and conditions of foreign investments and gives priority to investment and not majority population sentiments here. Which is right also in majority's purview though I don't find any issue in the terms and conditions as it's globally recognized and applied. So, your complaint and culprit should be the govt., right and you should criticize and pressurize the govt. to force the foreign investors to prioritize the sentiments over the investments, right? Then why all this drama of goondaism and hooliganism inside th stores with innocent poor employees who are just doing their job as they are told by the HR who are only following the policy framework agreed and approved by the govt.? You hold the collars of the politicians ruling the country and ask them whatever you want, nobody will complain or stop you, so do it.

Always understand... Foreigners DO NOT invest in your businesses. They buy YOUR Sovereignty. The moment you let a Foreign Investor in your country, Your Culture, Your Future, Your Independence & Your Security is Compromised. 7%+ GDP is going to enslave Your Kids.

The ESG framework was unofficially gutted the very day President Trump announced America’s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement. The entire ESG ecosystem was always a WEF-driven project rolled out post-COVID under the Democrat regime, fully aligned with the global left and Soros agenda. Defunding USAID was a massive Republican power move to starve woke NGOs worldwide and Ivy League Universities in the US. Elon’s relentless push to institutionalize the “population decline” agenda worldwide is now finishing off ESG and DEI for good. (Your post only hits right if dropped during lockdown.)

Lenskart isn’t a victim of capital. It’s an Indian MNC conquering global markets. While critics obsess over bindi, Bhiwadi builds the world’s largest specs factory—saving forex, ending China monopoly. Scale needs global standards, not colonial surrender🇮🇳
#Lenskart selling 80g plastic @ ₹1000 — profitability? 🤷😎 D-Mart sold soap @ 10% margin. Tanishq hold gold inventory. Both thrive. With world’s largest Spectacles Factory, 2,700 stores & 600 addition of stores - can Lenskart get entry in the club of Titan, Dmart & Trent?🤷😎
