When mgk spent $35,000 on a book signed in pencil by Pablo Picasso. 😭 The bookstore really hit the jackpot. Btw can we talk about how pretty mgk is?? Also, I wonder what that $35,000 chair looked like. 📝: mgk is known for his love of books and for collecting rare books. In a recently released YouTube video titled "STUDY HALL 004 - HAROSHI," the Japanese artist Haroshi gifted mgk one of his books, prompting mgk to talk about his love of books and reveal that he owns a book signed in pencil by Pablo Picasso. “My favorite thing in my house is books. I have a Pablo Picasso book signed in pencil,” mgk said. mgk spent $35,000 on the Picasso book. In a 2022 interview with ScreenRant for his movie Good Mourning, he opened up about the purchase while discussing another $35,000 splurge. “I bought a $35,000 chair,” mgk said, prompting Mod Sun, who was sitting beside him, to add, “And books, too.” “Oh, dude, actually speaking of 35,000, I bought a $35,000 Picasso,” mgk said. “It's just a book that's signed by him in pencil, that like, he designed the art for George Macy from like, Macy's like used to have an underground book club, and he would send out 1,500 copies of books that he would like, tell, retell famous fairy tales and all this stuff from. Picasso did one of them, and I have it, and it's like signed in pencil, and I'm like, 'That's so weird.' But yeah, I went into the bookstore, and I was like, 'I'll take that.' And the guy was like scoffs and I was like, 'No, no, no, no, I'll take that.' 'Are you serious?'” When Mod Sun responded, “It's really cool, actually,” mgk replied, “It was kind of hard.” Mod Sun then added, “I like him [mgk] more now because he buys books.” mgk also recalled a moment when Mod Sun came to his house after trying to “erase it.” “Yeah, he tried to erase it. He came to my house with it. His hands were in his pocket the whole time, like, 'What's in your pocket, dude?'” mgk said. mgk is so funny. #mgk #machinegunkelly #colsonbaker

When mgk spent $8K on a David Bowie-signed book & $10K on David Yurman earrings 😭 I wonder who that ex was. Btw mgk is so pretty here. I also wonder what those David Yurman earrings looked like. Y’all, remember to look at bro’s ears and compliment his earrings. We’re not letting this happen again. 📝: mgk is known for his love of books and for collecting rare books. In a 2020 interview with ELLE, he recalled spending $8,000 on a book signed by David Bowie. Asked, “What has been your most regrettable monetary splurge?” mgk brought up both the book and a pair of $10,000 David Yurman black diamond earrings. mgk said: “This one time, I spent $8,000 on a book, and it like just sits there unread, and I'm just kind of like, 'Why?' It's still cool, has David Bowie's signature on it. I didn't buy the book, to be honest. My ex bought the book. It's... I don't even know why I chose this item. I should have talked about the stupid $10,000 David Yurman black diamond earrings that I bought one time on the way to a red carpet, like just as a pit stop, like, 'Hold on one second,' and like, never got one compliment on those earrings in my life or my entire career like ever once. I'll go put like a safety pin in my ear and people were like, 'fashion icon,' but the $10,000 earrings just... I don't even think anyone realizes I have ears when those are in. Like, no one looks at them.” mgk is so funny. 🎥 Full video: mgk Shares His Biggest Weakness & Reveals His “Mystery Woman" #mgk #machinegunkelly #colsonbaker

mgk: "Rock, not just as a genre, but the art of rock star is essentially dead or dying. I'm being like, 'No, it ain't.' We're the ones keeping the flame alive." On October 6, 2026, @/floor13, an official mgk-affiliated account, shared a video on Instagram featuring footage from the lost americana tour. In the video, mgk reflected on his purpose as an artist, the state of rock and the importance of keeping the spirit of rock music alive through his own work and live performances. mgk said: “So much of my soul's purpose is to use my voice as a vessel for light through the frequency of music. Rock, not just as a genre, but the art of rock star is essentially dead or dying. I'm being like, 'No, it ain't.' We're the ones keeping the flame alive. I love getting to see the songs that we made in my living room, you know, with my best friends, come to life on this tour. These songs get sang back by thousands of people, so this is kind of essentially... we weren't passed the torch, so we're taking it.” 📸: bycesarmolina #mgk #machinegunkelly #colsonbaker

Let me open this up. Hold on, we got... we got a little, little, little, little Vivienne. Vivienne hidden in the cut. Little Vivienne timepiece.” There is also a small but amusing moment in the clip when a Japanese passerby walking ahead of mgk appears to notice him and casually remarks in Japanese that there is a musician behind them. #mgk #machinegunkelly #colsonbaker mgk's daughter is wearing my whole college tuition. btw mgk is such a girl dad. so cute. mgk and his oldest daughter Casie stroll through Tokyo and talk fashion.

You see how mgk is always so supportive of his fellow artists, never talks behind their backs, and is never two-faced unlike some people? And how he never hesitates to call fake dudes out, but never feels the need to tear successful women down, while so many insecure men are always so quick to have something to say about them. Real men move like mgk. 📝: Never forget that mgk called Taylor Swift a saint when he was asked to say three mean things about her. In 2024, during a Hot Ones Versus interview, Trippie Redd asked mgk to name “three mean things” about Taylor Swift. Instead, mgk praised her, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, you have got to be out of your motherf---ing mind if you think I want any smoke with that fan base. Also, Taylor is a saint and very nice to me, and Travis [Kelce] is my bro.” Trippie Redd then joked, “Kiss her feet while you're at it.” mgk replied, “She's very nice ... I'm just gonna eat a chicken wing,” before eating a chicken wing and singing a line from Swift's “I Knew You Were Trouble.” mgk is a real one. FYI: The cat resting on mgk’s shoulder in the photo on the left is Whiskey, his oldest cat son. Just as Taylor Swift is a proud cat mom to three cats, mgk is also a cat dad to three. #mgk #machinegunkelly #colsonbaker #taylorswift

Like, it's gonna be crazy tonight.’ Internally, I was stoked. I was like, ‘Oh, what a legendary night this is gonna be.’ By the third quarter, dude, I was looking at that score. I went up to Taylor, I was like, ‘Y'all aren't coming tonight, huh?’ She was like, ‘I don't think so. I'll see if I can get him [Travis Kelce] to get out, but I don't think...’ Cause me and Travis, that's my dog. He's from Cleveland. He's from right next to where I'm from.” In June 2025, mgk also referenced Taylor Swift's Eras Tour while discussing his own plans for future stadium shows. During an interview with Mikey Piffy on SiriusXM Hits 1, he said, “I think I'm gonna do like the punk rock version of a Taylor Swift Eras Tour at some point. When I do stadiums, I will run the eras. I will run through the catalogues that my fans have been waiting for.” Recently, Dakota Johnson referenced mgk on Saturday Night Live while Taylor Swift was standing next to her.
