So I have a ventilation setup I made for my booth. It involved insulated ducts going to a silencer that leads to an inline fan that has another silencer on the other end of it. It hooks into my booth via a vent and a 90 degree turn metal duct piece. Inside, I put 2 dense fiber "duct silencers" to keep noise from outside at bay.
I know this is not IDEAL. I am working on making a baffle box.
That all said, once I put these new fiber silencers inside the ducting, the sound from the actual air increased significantly because of the restricted airflow.
So, I have less outside noise, but seemingly more noise just by virtue of the air being sucked out of the booth. Obviously, that is not good. I know the noise comes from the smaller airways and the suction remaining the same as before.
What would you do to minimize external noise AND fan noise in this situation?
