The session equipped students with practical approaches to understanding problems, identifying opportunities, developing user-centred solutions, and building the personal skills needed to take their ideas forward. Congratulations to the Winners of the #ManagementInnovationChallenge Demo Day! Congratulations to the two winning teams recognized for developing outstanding solutions to challenges identified by @UMIUganda and @ufzepa. Each team received UGX 1.5 million. 1. ZEZUG A digital platform designed to streamline the management of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) by bringing key processes into one integrated system. From licensing and performance monitoring to management and visitor information, the platform creates a centralised one-stop solution for greater visibility and efficiency. 2. ZigaLoop AI An automated feedback management and tracking platform that ensures feedback is captured, routed to the right department, assigned to responsible teams, tracked against deadlines, and followed through to resolution. The journey continues The teams will continue testing, refining and strengthening their solutions with support from the @miic_ug, @UMIUganda and @ufzepa, as they work towards solutions that can be adopted and implemented by institutions. #InnovateWithUs

Bridging Industry Challenges with Innovation! During the #ManagementInnovationChallenge Demo Day, @CollinsMugadya, Programs and Mentorship Officer, highlighted the role of the @miic_ug under the Industry Digital Innovation Accelerator in bridging the gap between challenges faced by industry and government institutions and innovative solutions. By bringing innovators and institutions together, the program creates opportunities for innovators to develop solutions that respond to institutional and industry challenges. He also emphasized that Demo Day is not the end of the journey, it is another step forward. The innovators will continue testing, refining and validating their solutions to strengthen their potential for institutional adoption and impact. #InnovateWithUs

It’s Demo Day! #ManagementInnovationChallenge 2026 After weeks of market research, solution refinement and pitch practice, with the support of the @miic_ug, the teams are ready to take the stage and present their prototypes to a panel of judges. Today, they will showcase solutions developed to address the management challenges identified by @UMIUganda and @ufzepa, putting their ideas, insights and prototypes to the test. The winning teams will receive UGX 1.5 million to further develop their prototypes, with the potential for their solutions to be adopted by UMI and UZFEPA. #InnovateWithUs

As we gear up for #TechnologyEntrepreneurshipSeed (TES) Cohort 1, we conducted a Training of Trainers (ToT) for our facilitators and coaches who will guide participating entrepreneurs throughout the programme. The session provided an opportunity to align the team around the learning journey ahead, deepen their understanding of the programme’s approach, and explore how to effectively support founders as they move from early-stage ideas and prototypes towards stronger, market-oriented ventures. The facilitators and coaches also brainstormed the key areas they will deliver, the practical tools and approaches to be used, and how to create an engaging learning environment that encourages entrepreneurs to test assumptions, learn from feedback, refine their solutions, and strengthen their business models. More than preparing to deliver sessions, the ToT was about equipping the team to provide the guidance, mentorship, and practical support founders need to turn their ideas into viable businesses. As part of our efforts to strengthen sub-regional Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems through public universities in Uganda, @miic_ug hosted a co-creation session with @MMU_Uganda to review, refine and strengthen the incubation model they have developed based on the MIIC Incubator Model. The session brought together stakeholders from the two institutions to assess the model, identify areas for improvement, and ensure it is responsive to the needs of students, researchers and innovators within the Mountains of the Moon Ecosystem.
