I can confirm I'm seeing 140tok/sec locally using Qwen3.6 on a Mac studio w @inco_ai - very usable w @build today. We will all be running local models within 5 yrs.
Apple connected four Mac Studios over Thunderbolt and ran a trillion-parameter AI model to find and fix a graphics coding bug. The whole setup ran from one wall outlet. Now @Apple is pitching Macs to businesses as local AI machines: buy the hardware once, then run coding agents and other AI workloads without paying per token. That’s a much more interesting challenge to the cloud than another AI feature baked into macOS.

The CLARITY vote fell short. The immediate impact on bitcoin is limited, but the bigger question is what happens to the parts of crypto that are still waiting for regulatory clarity. I unpack it in my first article as @BitGo's head of research. Much much more to come. 👀

You have every right to know what your government is doing, and they have no right to know what you are doing. That is why they are called public servants and we are called private citizens. Instead, the relationship has been inverted. The state hides behind secrecy, classified files, and redactions while demanding total visibility into your finances, communications, movement, and behavior. A society where the rulers live in privacy while the population lives under surveillance is the very definition of tyranny.

He just wants his own, working tank.
Antifund's @jakepaul says the US needs a new Constitution "The 2nd Amendment was made so that if the government was doing ridiculous things to us and controlling us in harmful ways, that the citizens could upthrow them." "As weapons systems get more advanced, a pistol or a shotgun is not going to be able to upthrow the government if we the people decide that the US government is taking advantage of us. We maybe need to be able to bear more advanced weapons systems as citizens." "Drones, EMPs, RPGs, potential anti-helicopter.. I don't know what it is, but if the government can just come in with autonomous robots and take us all out, and we are now powerless, essentially the 2nd Amendment is just a hobby now for people to go and shoot guns."

This is the right way to think about it. For those that are concerned about ethics, we in the crypto industry would support a sweeping ethics bill that covers ethics on all asset classes from crypto to stocks to commodities and more.
What is clear to me is that if Clarity doesn’t advance tommorrow we probably won’t get crypto regulation for a long, long time - if ever. This would be terrible for USA and force more of our industry off shore. The digital and blockchain revolution will go on. Two more years of an SEC and CFTC to set rules and allow businesses to get started. But a longer term uncertainty which isn’t good. Asking Senators on both sides to see the big picture.

Regulation never creates better products or services.
The private sector built 5G in spite of Washington, not because of it. Spectrum allocation sits at the center of the problem. The FCC controls radio frequencies like a feudal lord distributes land, and telecom companies spend billions bidding at auction just to access what should be governed by property rights and voluntary exchange. Verizon paid $45.5 billion in the 2021 C-band auction alone. That capital could have funded actual infrastructure. Instead, it evaporated into government coffers. Then come the municipal permitting regimes. A carrier wanting to install a small cell antenna on a utility pole in San Francisco faces a different approval process than in Denver, Austin, or Miami. Each city extracts its own fees, imposes its own timelines, and empowers its own bureaucrats to delay. The FCC attempted to cap local fees in 2018; courts spent years litigating the question while deployment stalled. Despite all of this, T-Mobile covered 330 million people with 5G by early 2025. Engineers built it. Investors funded it. Consumers demanded it. Government contributed obstruction and collected rent. The lesson free market economists draw from this is straightforward: price signals and profit motive accomplish what no spectrum czar can plan. Sprint was weak; T-Mobile absorbed it in 2020 and accelerated deployment precisely because competitive pressure forced efficiency. Regulation didn't produce that outcome, the threat of losing customers to rivals did. You pay the cost of this system every month. Your wireless bill carries embedded regulatory overhead, auction debt, and compliance costs that competitive markets without artificial barriers would eliminate. The 5G on your phone arrived because private capital refused to quit, not because Washington cleared the path. A masterclass in rent-seeking.

The @AnthropicAI paradox: A) they believe their software will one day destroy humanity B) but they won't stop because someone else will do it anyway and it's better to be in the game than not as a company C) so they ask for US regulators to step in and slow down all American AI D) but they know that American regulations won't stop other countries E) which brings us back to (B), but now all American companies are knocked out and we simply fall to the mercy of foreign AI that continues to advance So be brave, @DarioAmodei, and lead with action. The only move under your control is to shutdown anthropic now.

Having operated a heavily regulated institution for the past 12 years, I guarantee that AI regulation will make Americans less safe. Just today, our "safety" regulations in finance directly led to the unnecessary leakage of PII from Revolut. This is simply the latest in thousands of similar breaches over the past 25 years, all caused by safety regulation. Yet the regulation remains in tact, forcing the same behaviors which have comtinuously put Americans in harms way, adding ever more regulations and without accountability to prove any of these measures work at all...
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.
