I snack on a LOT of fruit throughout the day Curbs cravings, high volume, and high fiber Not to mention loaded with micronutrients and the sugar content supports my daily training!

A great way to train your impulse control around food is the 1 hour rule Whenever you have a craving — tell yourself “I can have this in 1 hour if I still want it”. Your mind won’t react the same way as if you completely restricted yourself So in 1 hour…If you still want it…you’ll be in a less emotional state and it shouldn’t lead to a full on binge episode. And funnily enough…many times when the hour is up, you don’t even want it anymore

As someone who always struggled with the lockout in pressing movements (bench, incline bench, shoulder press, etc) I regularly use bands for accommodated resistance Helps tremendously because the band adds more resistance as you press away

“I feel the rows in my arms, not my lats” Think about initiating the pull with your elbows instead of your hands. As though there is a string tied to the tip of your elbow and it’s being pulled back. Should take some of the tension off the biceps

It's interesting to see so many endurance athletes spend $$$$ on gear and even high level coaching But won't put the time and energy into getting to a healthy bodyweight Im not even talking super lean Just a place where you don't have 30-40lbs of extra bodyfat If you want to go fast...it matters!

Step 1 of weight loss: Get the junk food out of your house. Step 2 of weight loss: Delete all apps that allow you to sit on your couch and deliver junk food to your doorstep

"Do I have to track calories to lose weight?" No. Its a tool...a helpful one...but we can use other tools too For example...the 3/2/1/0 method: (My client Ryan lost +40lbs using this)

0 Alcohol I love sipping a beer on a hot summer day. The problem is if you’re consistently drinking alcohol 1-2x a week and it’s causing you to binge eat a bunch of junk food – then it’s making weight loss much harder. This doesn't mean you can't enjoy a glass of wine or beer on special occasions, but make conscious decisions regarding when you will partake in alcohol consumption.

If optimizing for a 1-2% boost in performance takes a lot of mental energy + removes some of the enjoyment from the activity is it worth it? For me...no

It's quite easy to maintain muscle mass compared to what it takes to build it It's why the best way to "look jacked" and do long distance endurance events is to spend a few years exclusiviely training for muscle and strength
