Stiller is a lifelong "Star Trek" fan and has frequently spoken about the impact the original series had on him and his career. He and Shatner have also collaborated a number of times in the past. Those collaborations include Stiller appearing in the documentary "The Truth Is in the Stars," which Shatner hosted, while Shatner had a cameo alongside Stiller in the hit comedy feature "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story."
