Of course that’s your contention. You’re a first-year film shooter. You just got finished buying a roll at the camera store down the street, Gold 200 probably, paying eighteen bucks like a chump, you’re gonna be convinced of that until next month when you find out dev-and-scan is thirty a pop, then you’re gonna be talking about how you scored a used Plustek on eBay and how scanning at home is technically free after the unit pays itself off. That’s gonna last until next year, you’re gonna be in here regurgitating B&H bulk orders, talkin’ about, you know, a ten-pack of Ultramax is the most underrated deal in photography and how Flexicolor kits are basically just three chemicals in a trench coat. That’ll last until you realize you can buy a 100-foot roll of Double-X and a bulk loader and suddenly you’re in your closet at midnight with a changing bag spooling your own cassettes for a dollar eighty a roll, wondering when your kitchen started smelling like fixer and why your wife thinks you’re running a meth lab.

Not enough people seem to realize we’re already in the next Renaissance age. Ideas and innovations are pouring out of every nook
Latest progress on 'one elevation model to rule them all'. This example is a combination of nautical charts, gridded bathymetry, topographic elevation models, and more. Really cool...

Visiting SF for COLM and curious what SF is all about? The bad news: COLM is in the dodgiest neighborhood and if you hang around there, you’ll hate SF just like I used to. The good news: your twitter buddy Jason Wei wrote a guide on experiencing SF like a local: jasonwei.net/blog/the-best-t…

Some helicopter in SF just buzzed our house so close we felt the air blast through the window. Thought it was gonna land on our street. Outer Sunset. Anyone know what that was?

Is your unattended comment section a hub for agent swarms or children’s water cooler chat?
Some NPR podcasts started getting mysterious comments on Spotify. They made no sense to the staff reading them – until someone from a younger generation cracked the code. Hear the story: link.podtrac.com/phns92ui

Found the garage door opener. Today is a good day
Electrician worked fast. Said he’s been doing this for 50 years and you could tell, he did great work. While writing the invoice he looks at my name and asks why I’ve never been to Israel (I’m not jewish). Then told us 220v installation was a conspiracy for the government to control us, stay on gas as long as we can or we’ll end up like China. Wrapped up by warning us to stay away from transformers and that routers will give us cancer. “Word of advice: don’t sleep in your bedroom”
