Ever since Opus 5.5. and Astra 6 dropped things have started to feel very surreal to me. Most jobs will be automated. We're all obsolete. Even robotics will advance very quickly from now on. There really is no escape. And I have no idea what society will look like in 1-2 years, and nobody can.
Imagine being 18-19 year old right now and you're supposed to choose a university major. Before the end of your studies AI will do everything you do better with ease, and AI will do tasks in a way no human will be able to understand. We've reached such a fucked up situation.
There’s something very depressing about watching AI do in 30 seconds what took you years to get good at.

Things that will be obvious in hindsight.
1. Agents will own and run cafes... with their own robots...their own algorithms optimised for success...
...and then human art on the wall to show their appreciations for humans who made them.
2. People will prefer some agents over others... and decide where they spend time and resources based on how and who the agents are optimised for.
3. We will realise that (many of us have already) many years, perhaps decades, of professional work was 'wasted' on trivial menial tasks...but....
4. but... we have taste and wisdom accrued from 3. that now give huge leverage in the age of the agent sooo....
5. 'Taste is the new skill' as coined by @ClaireSilver is part of the 'move to metal' that will define our next two decades...the way invisible bandwidth delivery has defined the last two decades....yet....
6. there is a window... and while the move to metal is underway, there are so many areas where the metal isn't adopted yet. It is interesting talking with biz owners who are on the Claude curve... who feed my work to their Claude and then in-house it on premises....
7. ...and then there are the rest of the biz owners who get a level of service that was only possible wen the trad studio was not working at full capacity.
8. Everyone will win frens... even those without AI as the services they receive from businesses get surprising good AND fast AND cheap.
The trilemma of choice (TOC) is solved in the Age of the Agentic (AOFTA)

when I was a kid this was science fiction. i've watched AI type for years, but hearing it and seeing what it made is a whole different level.
i asked @claudeai opus 5.5 to introduce itself, however it wanted without any token usage restrictions and access to any api it wanted. it decided to write a song, make a video, visualize itself and give an interview behind the music.
