This was one of the worst things that MLB did for the fan. Tickets are already expensive and now you gotta pay another $50 to get a physical ticket. Nickel and diming us every chance they get
Pretty lame. I’m standing in line at the ticket office to get a printed ticket for my first ever #WorldSeries and an hour in they stopped printing them and the $50 commemorative ones because it’s suddenly a “safety issue” and put this sign up. They’ll have a QR code we can scan to order a ticket.
What the fuck. You couldn’t have said that to us earlier??

Is the Phillies analytics department providing any value to on field play?
Three teams left, and all three have bigger-than-average analytics staffs.
Brewers: 46 (2nd in MLB)
Rays: 39
Guardians: 30
League average: 28.5
The Phillies have the biggest staff in baseball, and they're already home. Like payroll, it's one input. Everything else combined still matters more.

Do not ruin things that are not broken
MLB's Arizona Fall League is experimenting with rules that regulate the positioning of outfielders in an effort to increase the number of balls in the gap.
Outfielders under these rules are playing closer to the lines than normal, creating much bigger swaths of grass in the alleyways in left-center and right-center field.
FanGraphs was first to report the news.
BA's Josh Norris and J.J. Cooper have more:

While things are bad, at least we're not laying off our mascots
The people who played the roles of the Orioles mascots, along with Baltimore's team photographer, were among employees let go by the club as part of a large round of layoffs, sources tell The Athletic.
