Former CIA officer David J. Rush pleaded guilty to wire fraud, admitting he invented fake classified programs to divert about $194 million in government funds.
FBI found 298 gold bars, ~$2.1 million in cash, and luxury watches at his Virginia home. He also used ~$145 million for South Florida properties and vehicles, and disclosed details of a secret U.S. intelligence source to a foreign official.
He agreed to forfeit at least $194 million and faces up to 20 years.
Sentencing is Jan. 28.
