Have tons of new faces following along so I figured I would reintroduce myself!
Iām Zach Molzer, a Kansas Cityābased multifamily developer and the founder of Molzer Development.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska and have been addicted to real estate for as long as I can remember.
I officially launched Molzer Development in March of 2024, focused on adaptive reuse and ground-up multifamily projects across the Heart of America.
Since then, weāve scaled fast.
Today, we have $45M+ in active development under construction, multiple projects breaking ground and stabilizing through 2026 and beyond.
The flagship project is The Aladdin; a ~$37M redevelopment of a 100-year-old, 16-story historic tower in downtown Kansas City.
Weāre utilizing historic tax credits, preserving irreplaceable architecture, and turning a long-vacant icon into housing, amenities, and community space.
Along the way, this account (& all of our socials!) have turned into something bigger than I expected.
What started as sharing behind-the-scenes development updates has grown into a platform centered on transparency, numbers, wins, mistakes, and the actual process of building cities.
Weāre now +250,000 followers across platforms, averaging 7M+ views per MONTH.

KCPS board has decided to proceed with the proposal to tear down the building.
The fight is not over yet, but it isnāt looking good. Iām frustrated and frankly disappointed the way this entire process went down.
We have lost enough of our city. When is enough, enough?
Yet another historic building faces demolition here in Kansas City, and I am sick of it.
We canāt build 100+ year old structures today, but yet we continue to have to fight the battle of tearing them down & the Bryant School is yet another that faces demolition.
Bryant Elementary School has stood at Wornall Road and 57th Street since 1915 and served generations of families in the surrounding neighborhoods before Kansas City Public Schools closed the building in 2009.
Now?
The Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) Board endorsed demolition of the Bryant School in August 2026 in return for redevelopment of the site into 14-houses that solely serve the top .5% of KCMO residents.
As a newly appointed member of the Historic Preservation Commission, a KC native, and developer whose primary focus is adaptive reuse, I support reconsideration of demolition plans in favor of a development on the site that would see both preservation of the historic school building alongside adjacent new construction.
Once buildings like this are gone, we canāt just get them back. We must be better, and it starts with our voice.

last week we (crainco.com) closed on the purchase of 1624 Grand in downtown KC: the home of Messenger Coffee Co. + Ibis Bakery.
we closed with @molzer as a partner and co-GP, all because of this app. now we're working on *a lot * more in/around KC.
